Just wonderful! The friendship of two strong men; their shared passion to do what they felt was right. Everyone needs to see this honest film. Superb performances by the entire cast.
I love the scene where Ejiofor & Cheadle were convencing station owner Sheen - that it is time to change the radio station's format "for the People" and the moment Petey chimes: "I am the People."

We need local radio to return what it should be - for the People.

Just saw the movie. Chjwetel Ejiofor was amazing and Don Cheadle as always is great!!! Tell everyone you know about this wonderful film.

I finally saw this movie and I loved it. I didn't know who Petey Greene was but i'm glad that Don Cheadle introduced him to us. Being from Canada, we don't have R&B soul music stations where the announers spoke with rhythm and smoothness and who felt the music. The radio I've been exposed is where the announcers are either silly, stupid and/ or downright dull. So, this movie is a gift to me because I never was exposed to soul R&B radio. In Petey Greene's case, he spoke the truth straight up with style. That's a gift. Don Cheadle deserves an Oscar for this performance and he gets extra for being one of the executive producers. thanks to everyone for making this movie happen. I realize that this movie is not considered "marketable" by studio standards so I've been telling everyone to see this movie so I can see more great and ORIGINAL stories like Petey Greene.

I thought the movie was wonderful!!! It is a shame it is only playing in limited showings. I had to wait until it came to a show in my area, and I live in Chicago.

I went to see this movie last night. Words cannot describe the laughter and random swing of emotions that I felt. Don Cheadle deserves more than just an Oscar nomination for this performance. Sad to say that I just found out about this movie yesterday. It is terrible to read the accounts of others who had to travel for hours to see a movie that in my humble opinion was about uplifting the black community and brotherhood in general. I recommend that everyone see this film regardless of race and ethnicity because it will definitely touch you.

I am so grateful that this movie came to Riverside, CA on Friday! Finally! I had e-mailed another theatre 3 times requesting the film and got zero response, luckily this theatre picked it up.
The film was fantastic! I loved the entire movie!
Please add that this film is showing at the Metropolitan Theatres in University Village | Riverside, CA
I'm trying to tell everybody to go see it, so that it can last longer.

from yeahwritekelli | August 19, 2007 07:49 PM

The best thing I liked about the movie was that I learned about someone who I didn't know about.
The cast was also good.
My least favorite thing was all the cursing.

I absolutely loved this movie! The cast was great and I will see it again. I called my sons in California and Iowa City and told them to see it ASAP! I want the DVD when it is released and would love to have the soundtrack. There has to be an Academy Award nomination for Don Cheadle; he deserves the win for this one for sure!

An absolutely wonderful film. Definitely worth seeing in a theater with a very good sound system (i.e., see it now in a first-run house rather than wait for a budget theater)

If Don Cheadle does not get an Academy Award nomination, if not the award, something is very wrong.

I've recommended it to friends with the promise to reimburse the ticket cost if they don't love it.

Too soon the world took Martin and the prison system shortened Petey's life, his voice did not reach my ears. Radical leadership all shot down and shut down, forced underground. There are still so many white bitches blind deaf and dumb like me who still sit on the fence even though raised in a politically progressive home. I'll move my ass for antiwar outside the Country but not against racism, classism, sexism inside my Country. My mouth moves in my own routes and circles in response calling shit, but that's all, that's all.
I cried and applauded Talk To Me.
To be young gifted and black today is a political quagmire without leadership not doped up by money and fame.
Wow...thank you for this political, well made film!

When my fiancee and I saw the poster for this movie, there was never any doubt about which movie we would see. Boy were we glad we did. this movie touched me ways I cannot begin to describe. It took me back to a time I Love best---when blacks looked out for one another, Loved each other ,struggled together and cryed together. It was a time of solidarity that we will unfortunately never experience again. When blacks were proud to be black, we were empowered.... I miss that era. It was unbelievable to my fiancee and I, that after all these years Petey was remembered on such a large scale WOW! I especially Loved the bond and friendship that existed between Petey and Dewey--what a pair. The two were unafraid to express the Love and respect each had for the other, there were no awkward "macho" moments in this movie. My second favorite scene included Martin Sheen, after the announcement of the death of Dr.King. I'll stop here, but will encourage you to see the move if you have'nt, there is nothing like it in the movies this summer..

from John P. Genatossio | August 16, 2007 07:35 PM

Talk To Me is the best picture of the Year!!!

Don Chedle gives us
magnificent inside look at Petey Green.

It will make you laugh one minute and then it throws a punch of drama you'll never forgot.

Please Focus Feature get off your seat and start plugging this movie better.

It's only playing for One Week in my area and the next thearter about 25 miles away!!

You have a gem of a movie on your hand and you don't know it!!

First, this is the best movie I have seen in a very long time and number 2 on my best of all time! But this is where I become very sad...................I cannot believe that a story this powerful, with at least three award-winning performances is only showing in limited theatres across the country. The world is being cheated!!!!!!

Actually, my 18 year old daughter and I went to the movies to see another movie and in the lobby of the theater was this hugh display about "Talk To Me". Due mainly to the fact that the actors were black, we changed our minds and went to see it. I AM GLAD WE DID. We experienced a large range of emotions. We laughed, we were sad and even angry, but most of all we were encouraged. My daughter who will be a freshman in college this fall said, "It's really sad that this movie isn't getting the publicity that it deserves because it's the best one I've seen this summer". I agree.

KUDOS to the remarkable cast, especially Don Cheadle and Taraji Henson. It was good to see a black relationship stand the test of time. The struggle and the forgiveness, the girl STOOD BY HER MAN and true love prevailed, and he became the best he could be!!!

1st the name of the charather is the same name my brother & nephew only they spell it Petie. Don Cheadle as usually did an outstanding job. The music bought back memories. I grew up in the sixties, seventies. Finally, I did not live in the DC area, so therefore, this was my 1st time hearing about Mr. Greene. Thanks again for bringing history to light

This movie was real! Petey Greene was a "character" and he was portrayed well by "Mr. Don." "Talk to Me" is definitely one of my favorite Top 5 movies. Not only does Don Cheadle deserve a standing ovation, but the other characters do also. I wonder why this movie was not in more theaters in the Chicagoland area, because it is an excellent film. Definitely Oscar worthy. Best of Luck!

This was a great love story...and an awesome display of strength, faith and endurance. It's amazing how the industry will promote negative images of our Brothers but a positive story, such as this one, down-played. Let's spread the word ya'll.

from steve g. | August 11, 2007 10:53 AM

Best movie I've seen this year, and I've seen too many movies this year. It transported me to another culture. A rich, raw, profoundly unappreciated culture that cannot be put down, but which is being suffocated by conformity expressed as narcissistic, misogynistic materialism embodied in todays music. I'm taking my teenaged, white, hip-hop loving son, in hope that he'll gain insigt and culture.

from Naomi B. Warner | August 11, 2007 09:25 AM

Holy Guacamole what a fabulous important movie you made, but why did you release it at this lowest time of the year when mass market,"family films" are in the theaters. What were you thinking??? Don Cheadle,Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Taraji P. Henson are all Oscar worthy and yet I watched this profoundly moving movie in a theater with maybe 15 people while "Hairspray" and all the "summer" movies were playing to filled houses all around me. Please don't bury "Talk To Me" in the banal drivel of seasonal releases. Save your movie now. Promote it! Protect it! You're missing your audience.

I have looked for this movie for the last two weeks in Philly. Then last week I saw that this movie was out on DVD, however I have not been able to find it. Please tell me where I can find this movie if it is out on DVD. I heard the movie was a box office hit. I really want to see this movie real bad. Please help me. Thank you

Pat Hill

When Don Cheadle stated: "the youth of today...are not conditioned to think..." he verbalized a major concern of mine. But it's not just the youth, it's the entire country. I loved this movie for presenting important and too seldom heard points of view along with historical, cultural and psychological perspectives. This was one of the best movies I've ever seen.

I loved the movie I went on opening night when it hit South Florida and was very pleased. Don and Taraji were a great pair and will watch the movie again. Can't wait until it make it to DVD.

I'd waited for "Talk" to make it to Tulsa; it didn't get to its ONE screen here until 8/3, and my girlfriend & I saw it on 8/5. IT IS SIMPLY BRILLIANT. I have been a huge Don Cheadle fan since his days on "Picket Fences," and when I read about this movie, it was must-see viewing for me.

I agree with so many things already posted here; Don, Chiwetel and the entire cast helped make this one of the best movies I've seen in a very long time - I was moved to tears, I laughed like a child, I felt anger... a true life-affirming experience. Thanks to all involved.

There must be a POWERFUL message in this movie and someone does not want this message revealed. I will travel the distance to see this movie.

from Rhonda Watkins | August 2, 2007 11:15 AM

I absolutely loved the movie and I thought the acting was just phenomenal. Don Cheadle is Academy Award material heads up - he is absolutely outstanding. Taraji P. Henson is not to be left out by any means, she has taken herself to another level. This sister really shows her diversity in this movie. The blend of realism and emotion displayed in the film was just magnificent and very much appreciated. This movie is a wonderful work of art to be appreciated for many years to come. Thank you for such a wonderful movie!

I am 50 years old, Washingtonian, and I loved Petey Greene. Petey Greene was real and it was so amazing to see his personality, character, and spirit. I remember listening to Petey Greene on the radio, and calling into his show and speaking to him. I was a junior in high school, and all I could do was ask him for a poster. And guess, what not only did I get the poster, Petey Greene personally brought it to my home. Petey Greene still lives. I am disappointed that we do not have any more Petey Greene's to inspire and provide hope to our youth. Petey Greene was an example of a real man living in real time trying to survive. I can't wait to secure a copy in the future of Talk to Me for my library. I am still remembering Petey Greene and appreciating the values and pride as a Washingtonian. Love it! Will see it again, and again, the actors were amazing. It made me long for my past - a past of pride of Black people - a time when we were rough around the edges, but respectful.

Kudos to Michael Genet, Rick Famuyiwa, Kasi Lemmons, Don Cheadle, and the entire cast!! This film is mistakenly promoted as a comedy. While it has natural comedic overtones, this is definitely a well written and directed docu-drama. It most appropriately shows the raw emotions that often are part of black experiences in the US - especially for that time period. The emotional connections to the characters and the events of the period pull you right out of your seat! The bar for quality films has been raised across all film genres! This is a MUST GO SEE if ever there was one. I traveled 4 hours to go see it, because it was not offered within my regional area. It was worth the drive and then some!

from Valincia | July 31, 2007 02:00 PM

Just saw this movie, it was fantastic. All of the main players were excellent I am 46 years old so I knew all of the songs that were played. This film almost brought me to tears a couple of times, the first was when Martin died and the second was when Petey passed. This man was a man of the people and for the people, and at that time it was much needed! I will buy the soundtrack and the DVD as soon as they are available.
GO SEE THIS MOVIE ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE AFRICAN AMERICAN. IT WILL REINFORCE YOUR PRIDE THAT'S WHAT IT DID FOR ME!

from Monalisa DeGross | July 30, 2007 11:22 AM

This was a movie about friendship, that did not turn into a buddy movie. Rarely do you see a side of the uptight black guy that nails it. Or do you really see what makes a Petey Green type tick. I loved and was irritated by both men and I
really got their point of view. The cast was terrific, every character rang true

Thank you for the honor of meeting Mr. "Petey" Greene. Rarely do you leave the theatre feeling blessed and rewarded by the story told and the roles performed. God played the role of "Petey" and his Lady and never once broke character. Both of these spirits knew who they were in the eyes of society but lived their lives from their hearts portraying a mighty love of themselves, their people and their community. Thank you for the excellence of cast, wardrobe. I am overwhelmed, inspired by the excellence of lives lived and characters portrayed! This one calls for an ensemble Oscar but let's rename it the Petey award! Don, Taraji, Chiwetel...superior work, you played it from the heart!

from starlina mizell | July 29, 2007 02:51 PM

Everyone involved with the making of this movie should be proud. Talk To Me is excellent. I've been telling my people to find it and go see it. Tho I shouldn't be, I was surprised it's only showing in 4 theatres in the Atlanta area.

from ron harris | July 28, 2007 04:33 PM

I am friends with Dewey Hughes. He told me about this movie 3 or 4 years ago. We were both shocked that any one would want to make a movie about a local DC man. The producers thought the story of an ex con, ex drug addict, becoming a talk show host of a station in a major market would make a great movie. One of the producers is a DC guy and remembered Petey's TV show and approached Dewey about doing the movie. He was facinated by the friendship of Dewey and Petey. I never missed the radio show at 6 pm every Sunday.

from Mary R. | July 28, 2007 02:54 PM

My son and I just came back from seeing “Talk to Me” on its opening night and this was a phenomenal movie. It was much more than just “the telling of the real-life story of Ralph Waldo "Petey" Greene, an outspoken ex-con who talked his way into becoming an iconic radio personality in the 1960s, in Washington, D.C.” It was a trip down memory lane for those of us old enough to remember the sixties and hearing the horrible news about Dr. King, along with the anger and frustration it unleased. This is an important movie that I hope young people will go out to see. Don Cheadle has another winner on his hands. He played Petey Greene beautifully and very convincingly. He is the consummate performer and I love his work. “Talk to Me” is a fantastic movie and a story worth going to see.

from ronald spears | July 28, 2007 07:19 AM

Don Cheadle is one of the best actors of our time. I will be purchasing the deluxe DVD when it hits the stores(not the 5$ bootleg, we've got to support our own). The whole cast was excellent and Taraji is FINE, and a great actress. Chiwetel Ejiofor ,Martin Sheen, Cedric the Entertainer, Vondie Curtis Hall, and Mike Epps all did fantastic jobs as did Kasi Lemmons. This was my time and I remember it well.

from Marlene | July 28, 2007 04:41 AM

Just saw this movie and just absolutely loved it! The movie tells a wonderful true story and it lets you know to never give up despite what obstacles may come your way. As a people, we must tell everyone to go and see the movie. Even if it means going a little extra distance. Definitely want to get the DVD.

I have just seen one of the most outstanding movies of the time. The cast, superb, theacting superb, the soundtrack, superb. Just EXCELLENT. Showing only in two theaters here in Memphis. This is a movie that all people need to see; particularly, African Americans, young and old.

from steven palmore | July 27, 2007 08:45 PM

It was absolutly the best movie that I've seen in years Being in the entertainment industry now for over 40 years(at top level) I'm not surprised that the powers that be in Hollywood made sure that it was not easily accessable to the general pubic, because it would have taken evey hollywood award or hollywood's racism would have been very obviously displayed.(and they don't want that to happend) But it's their loss because it would have made a lot of money! Being a person who speaks their mind just like petey greene I would pay to see talk to me two times but I don't give a fuck how much promotion they put behind the simpsom,I AIN'T PAYING NOTHING TO SEE THAT SHIT! as a matter of fact I would go see that shit or even let my kids go see it if somebody paid me.Talk to me ,Like Sicko is relevant and they fact that they were only shown at select theatres let's me know that Hollywoods BULLSHIT IS ALIVE AND WELL, or at least still alive anyway!

I have been looking forward to seeing this movie since it has been advertised. I am very upset with the fact that none of the nearby theaters, located in Country Club Hills, IL and Crestwood, IL, are not showing this movie; These communities are predominately african american. What is going on? I am very disappointed. I was waiting to view this movie. I am a big fan of Don Cheadle and love to watch the others as well.

Please investigate.

from Orlando | July 27, 2007 03:01 PM

I 'm upset like most people that have posted. I'm in South Carolina and can not find it anywhere. They said that it was opening in more places this week but still not down here. Looks like an outstanding movie. But, if you have not seen it yet go on www.youtube.com and type in the seach "Petey Greene" and click on him showing you how to eat watermelon. If you don't know what he looks like click on the guy sitting on the wicker chair.

Why is this movie not playing everywhere? I was very upset when I found out that it would not be playing in Charlotte N.C. I'm not going to even pull the race card and go there, but we all know the truth. Don Cheadle I'm sure as well as the others put alot of blood, sweat, and tears in this work for it to be denied to be shown everywhere. The sad part is people think we have come so far but the sad and harsh reality is we have not. This should make folks sit up and take notice. They don't want this movie heard because the real Ralph Waldo Greene had alot to say that I'm sure raised eyebrows and made people think.

from kenneth | July 27, 2007 12:21 PM

The movie was straight forward the truth and halarious at time. Overall the best movie of the year. Howard sterns mentor.

from alechia3 | July 27, 2007 10:09 AM

I looked forward to seeing it after seeing previews being played during other movies. I was real dissappointed to find it would not be playing in my area. It does not seem to be playing anywhere. Obviously, somewhere however, since these people above have seen it. What's up with that?

Absolutely phenomenal performance from Cheadle—the entire cast was brilliant actually. Go see it, you won't be disappointed. A wonderful window into a place, time, and unique character.

from Uwishunuw | July 27, 2007 07:29 AM

I caught this movie as a sneak preview. I always wanted to see it because I love Mr. Don Cheadle. Once I got over the issue of the language, I had a great time. I would recommend this to anyone that is searching for a purpose. We all think that we have to doctors, lawyers, or the president to make a difference but Petery shows us that everyday... ordinary folks are the ones that make the BIGGEST DIFFERENCE! We a a race of people should learn from this. GREAT MOVIE!!!!

This is a very powerful film that went far beyond my expectations. It has shed a whole new light on my own life and rather fresh career in radio! This is my new favorite movie, you know the movie that you can watch a thousand times and never get tired of. The cast did an excellent job; each and everybody in this film deserves much love! Especially Mr. Cheadle, bravo man...bravo! Brother you did your thing! We NEED more films like this! Petey Green...Dewey Hughes...thanks for being the inspiration for this film. I am inspired; and just in time too!

from purr to me | July 26, 2007 07:54 PM

Gracious calm down people I sw it as a sneak tonight and it"s opening tomorrow ..It was excellent and Im sure will play all over

WHY ISN'T THIS MOVIE PLAYING ANYWHERE NEAR RICHMOND OR WASHINGTON DC???? THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE WHO WANT TO SEE IT!

Some great storytelling Kasi Lemmons and cast! Kudos Mr. Cheadle, Ms. Henson, Mr. Ejifor, I'm looking for Oscar nods! Fantastic! Your trailer does not give us a clue of what a great film we were going to see. Can't wait to see it again and to purchase the dvd! It is definitely a film for the collection.

I live in las Vegas and "Talk to Me is not in any of our theaters. WHY? I was poised to see it the weekend of its release. When will it show in our area?

What is going on that so many people are being denied the chance to see this movie? During the limited release there was NO theater in the whole of Louisiana showing the film! Now that don't make no sense.
On 7/27 the movie is supposed to be released to more theaters. Guess what; only ONE theater in the whole of Louisiana is carrying the movie and it's close to New Orleans, hundreds of miles from where I live.
Is it the movie studio or what?? What kind of marketing is this??????

If you want a little, you've got to give a little. Sharing is a good word too.
How about some passes and prizes for comments?

I loved this movie!!! I think Tarji is one of the most underestimated actresses out there. Her eyes speak volumes without saying a word. Go girl! There are no words that can describe the wonder that is Mr. Cheadle. He is AMAZING! POWERFUL! Mr. Ejiofor also deserves some major shine because his performance was perfection. What I enjoyed most about this movie was the fact that this particular dialogue is what is missing in life and media today. Why are we so afraid to express our discontent, anger, and frustration with this current administration? We have become so complacent and timorous when it comes to our progress. This movie made me as a person decide to take whatever steps necessary to "do better". I am emailing friends, blogs, and talking to as many people as possible to INSIST they see this movie. BRAVO!

from Carolyn | July 26, 2007 03:55 AM

It was good to see a film about and by native Washingtonians who did good in the neighborhood. And it is something that those born later can look in a positive manner. One of my grandson's friends saw the movie and afterwards looked up for more on google. He enjoyed the movie. Proud of the good work of Kasi Lemmon and native washingtonia Taraji too.

Can someone tell us why selected cities?

I saw "Talk to Me" sunday and i absolutely loved it. Petey Green was definitely the truth. He spoke it, he walked it. It was so unfortunate that he just couldn't see himself like the world saw him. But it was a powerful movie. I would see it again.

from M. Rogers | July 25, 2007 07:50 AM

This was one of the best films I've seen in a while. I am a Cheadle fan and always jump at an opportunity to see his work. Being a native Californian, I'd never heard of Petey Greene and found the movie to be entertaining as well as educational. It makes me wonder where the Petey Greene's of my day are and if they will ever surface. Excellent film. I hope it gets shown on more screens.

from JJacobs | July 25, 2007 07:34 AM

Would have LOVED to see it, BUT it is showing in only a few markets! Please tell us it is being launched nation wide soon? We are getting the media commericals but it's still no where to be found in the southern states...ie Florida! Love all of Don Cheadle's work! :o)

I just have to make a few more comments after reading everyone elses.
First of all, I thought this movie showing was just limited in the Boston area. Well, upon reading the other comments, it seems tragic that it's limited statewide. I want to know why...
I can assure you that showing this movie will not bring about rioting or disruption.
It seems that discrimination comes into play since this movie is not being distributed worldwide.
IT'S A SHAME AND A TRAVESTY.
This movie was well directed, produced, and very real. All the actors involved deserve a nomination whether for best actor/actress or a supporting role. If anyone is replying to these comments, please email me as to WHY this movie has such limited distribution.
I am furious hearing about the other cities and states not supporting this excellent movie.

Please, Please have a part two.......sequel!
Don Cheadle deserves an Oscar, Emmy, and any other awards associated with acting; and the rest of the cast was brilliant as well! This movie was excellent!
I want to know why this movie isn't playing in theatres all over... Currently, it is just being viewed in Downtown Boston, and not in Randolph, Braintree, or Greater Boston surrounding areas. Why???

from WILBERT J. PETE | July 25, 2007 01:39 AM

An absolutely great film!!!

Unsurpassed storytelling of such energy, force and power that TALK TO ME left me rolling in the aisle(laughing) and enriched spiritually for having seen it.

Cannot stop telling everyone I meet, "you gotta go see ... TALK TO ME".

This was a wonderful film -- well acted, directed and filmed. I'm so glad that Petey Greene's story is now out for the whole world to see. It just goes to show that anyone can affect positive change in his/her own life or the world. And it's nice to see a seemingly everyday Black man being honored.

tell it like it is...! today we need to talk about Bush/Cheney... they need to be IMPEACHED. A lot of laws have been broken, a lot of US citizens have been lied to, so many people killed all over the world, our civil rights are under threat.

I live in Toledo,Ohio,I was so excited to learn this movie was coming to theaters soon, only to be disappointed because it is not showing here.WHY?????

from d y green | July 24, 2007 09:42 AM

I would love to comment on this movie, but I too seem to live in a market where the movie is not in release.

I am surprised that so many people all over the country are in the same position I am in...but you know what? I bet El Cantante, the movie about the Latin Salsa star and slated for release on August 3rd.
will be seen all over the country in multiple venues.....go figure.

I live near and work in Minneapolis, MN. The closest theater showing Talk to Me this week is in Chicago! According to IMdB, it gets worse next Friday...only three theaters in the nation...the closest to us being St. Louis, MO?

What happened to the distribution? Please help me find a way to bring it to our market.

I am glad the ATL was chosen as one of the select cities! I didn't know who Petey Green was before this movie. Great Job!

from Tisha Morillo | July 23, 2007 02:01 PM

I am also in Texas, East Texas, and this movie is not being shown anywhere around here. You would think that the theaters would recognize Mr. Cheadle for the star that he is, and would show this movie without hesitation.

from AfrikahVenus | July 23, 2007 11:09 AM

This movie is excellent! I loved it. Don did a fantastic portrayal of Petey Green and Chiwetel did a great job of his portrayal of Dewey Hughes...I also enjoyed Martin Sheen, and Taraji Henson. She is a great actress! But most of all to me, the movie was about MAKING IT HAPPEN! We need more black men in real life with REAL dreams, like Dewey Hughes, Barry Gordy, Ike Turner,...etc. Brothers who really can make it happen, who set goals backed-up with a lot of determination.

I took my boyfriend to see it. He grew up in DC so he remembered the people and the places. He said he cried a few times, and I cried once too. A great film!

I love this movie!!! Don, Chiwetel, Tajii & Kasi are fantastic! Oscars for everybody!!!

why is this not in broad release? i love don. he is one of the best actors around. i just love him. when will this film be all over!?

Why is this movie not being shown in Southern Florida?

I remember Petey Green and his TV show from living in the DC area - this was an excellent film and I am urging all my friends to go see it. I also think young people should see it. They will see what it was like before we count see "us" on TV or hear "us" on radiio at any time. Petey was a pioneer. He really told it like it was!

If it's showing in your area, which it doesn't seem to be in a lot of markets, GO SEE IT, it was a real treat, I'd go see it again, just for the laughs. It's a comedic but not a comedy. Has a great message about determination.

This movie is not even playing in San Bernardino, CA, so mad, but I will drive the 72 miles to Magic Johnson Theater in Baldwin Hills to see it.
Gotta see it next weekend.

I have been waiting to see this film. However, I haven't found a theatre in Tulsa, OK showing it. Come on!!!!!!!

Put this movie in TEXAS! from San Antonio to Dallas, Houston, yall dont forget about us down here!

I am highly upset that this movie isn't showing in my area. I watch previews all day long and I really want to see it. This sucks.

When will this movie be released in the Tampa Bay, Florida area? Where can I find the coming dates or listings? I can't wait to see it and tell my friends & family to go support it.

I saw the movie in Los Angeles and it was an excellent movie. It shows that in spite of your past, you can be empowered and empower others to make change, which Petey did, in spite of uncoventional ways on the air.

But I did not know that the programming director Dewey Hughes, who started in Chicago what is now called Radio One was married to Cathy Hughes?

Why is this movie not being screened in upstate NY or Western PA? I really want to see it but I am no where near where it is playing. will I have to wait till it's out on DVD or is there anything I can do to get it in my city? I will call theaters here. is there a reason why this is not in more theaters?

Powerful drama-biopic capturing the style, music and social consciousness of the sixties and seventies. "Keep it real" by seeing and asking for it in your area. Only in 33 theaters nation wide.

This is one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. Don Cheadle is brilliant, turning in yet another impressive performance. Chiwetel Ejiofor (who is my new Hollywood crush) complements him wonderfully. Supporting actors, such as Taraji P. Henson Martin Sheen, Cedric the Entertainer, Vondie Curtis Hall, and Mike Epps round out a fabulous cast, wonderfully directed by Kasi Lemmons. Great storyline, inspired by true-life events, set against an awesome soundtrack. A well-acted drama, with a perfect balance of comedic elements. Incredible film that I will rush to buy once released on DVD.

July 20. I've seen it twice! Big ups to Kasi Lemmons. For those of us who appreciate her work (Eve's Bayou), and have waited a long time for her to get another shot at directing, she definitely did not disappoint. Great casting-- the roles played by Cheadle and Ejiofor were strong and rich. Taraji (a direct descendant of Matthew Henson) is a handful. This movie was thoughtful, provocative, funny and one that I will pay to see again and again. Loved it! Two thumbs up!

Can't comment. There is venue in Austin, TX. What's up with the limited screening? This is a movie I really wanted to see. Why advertise it nationally and it won't be available everywhere?

I am in Dallas and cannot find a venue showing the movie.

Help

I can not comment on the movie because I can't find a venue that is showing this movie in NC. I was looking forward to seeing it but am disappointed that it is not playing anywhere in this state. I am sure that I am not the only one in High Point or in North Carolina that wanted to see this movie. How can we get the movie here?

This film is an excellent example of a well balanced story about relationships and society. Casted to perfection (love to you Taraji!), well paced and full of human and humorous moments, I enjoyed this film a great deal and I thank you for the opportunity to learn about a pretty cool cat.

The performances! Don Cheadle is gonna be up for an Oscar, mark my words. Loved Ejiofor as well but it was Cheadle's show.

This was such a good movie! It had humor and equally compelling drama...definately a must see for anyone who wants to laugh and stay in engaged from start to finish. well done cast & crew!!!

This was the best movie I've seen this year... well made, great content, funny, intense, great music, all around entertaining, and I was happy to learn about Petey Green and his contributions to radio. All of the performances were STELLAR and Don Cheadle was magnificent! He truly deserves Oscar recognition for his performance. I've watched him forever and I'm so excited that he is creating opportunities that really showcase what he is capable of. Can't say enough about this movie. Love Kasi Lemmon's work. Can't wait to see the movie again and purchase it when it comes out on dvd.
