Welcome
We hope you're as excited as we are to talk to the creator of Medium, Glenn Gordon Caron, after tonight's east coast airing of the show. In the meantime, feel free to leave your questions in the comments here for him to start with once he arrives.
Thanks so much for joining us tonight...see you in the comments!

Hi Glenn. I was lucky enough to participate in the Medium set visit last week. Thanks so much for all the great behin-the-scenes info. I have a blog devoted to the show at http://www.mediumdreams.com where I currently have a poll up asking fans who they would most like to see return to Medium as a guest star. The overwhelming response is Ryan Hurst as Allison's brother Michael. Any chance we will be seeing him again any time soon? ~Sheila Livingston
Can't wait for the show tonight!
I have been missing this show in Tennessee! It's wonderful to have you back. Why don't you stay awhile!
Why is the premiere so late in the season?
Are you surprised by the success of Medium?
Hey, Glenn, I love ur show, ive never missed an episode. Its one of my favorite shows ever.
This is my favorite show and I am so glad it is back and the two hours has been fantastic. VEry well done. The entire show has been fantastic. Sorry to gush but I just think it was as good as it ever has been!!!
So glad Medium is back...its the best show. I love it!
how many people does it take to come up with the plots and storylines for the show, or do you do it ALL by yourself?
Love the show. It's outstanding.
I love this show. The actors are amazing. This show has become one of my favorites. Keep up the great work.
Sarah from alliance.
Glenn, so far so great! This has to be the best season premiere I have seen this season. I really like how layered the story is. There are so many different directions you can develop the story. It's just so wonderful. Keep up the splendid work!
did u change allison's maiden name? I thought it was like her married name or at least her brother's name was...
Hi Glenn,
I was extremely curious to see what was going on with the show.,,,i was hoping NBC was only holding one of the best shows i've seen in years back to replace the expected season opening "turkeys". I think the premise and previous writing was great, and think so far this season opener bodes well for the rest of the season...
thanks!
hey Glenn
there are about 10 minutes left in the episode and it is simply amazing ! i was so excited to finally see medium again !! thank you so much for such an amazing show, my favorite ! oh here it is again, congrads on such a successful show !!
gina
Love this show, who is she imitating? Is this James Prague or someone else? Keep it coming!
I'm really enjopying the show
I love the show but, why does her husband have to be so unsupportive of her? I hate that.
Wanted to ask whee you get the inspiration for this series. Some of the episodes are out of this world
I have been a fan from the first "Medium" show. Did I notice more blood on the set last season midway through, and does tonight's episode constitute a more viewer friendly show:)
aw
Her husband seems to be holding something back. Is there more to him than meets the eye?
Great show tonight. I love it and I never miss it.
Been waiting for weeks for the premiere...looked for it in September...disappointed that it took so long to premiere, but I get it that nbc had to try out new shows...But they wised up, why try something new when you have a winner on hand...
Don't put it on the back burner...
Excited for the premiere and what a premiere!!!
Carol
Thank you for creating a show that is extrordinary. I frequently find myself shrieking because the show IS NOT predictable. Thank You.
Will Allison be seeing more ghosts like her ex boyfriend, in the next coming episodes.
Hey Glenn..last season there was an episode where the woman's last name was Hanscom..just wondering if there was any significance to that...My maiden name is Hanscom and I know there are a lot of us in the East coast...Hanscom AFB, etc. Just wondering because that is such a different name, especially on the West coast...Thanks so much for your time!!! Sarah.
What a great show. Each season gets better and better...keep up the great work
Her husband seems to be holding something back. Is there more to him than meets the eye?
Just want to say that you do write great shows.
Thank you.
poor dogg =[
Do all the episodes come from actual encounters, loosely based on encounters or totally made up?
The show is great.
Thank you.
Love the show, but tonights show is a bit slow..
First I'd like to say...I love this show..and I'd like to know what gave you the idea to come up with this show...it's the best..can't wait for next week..thanks
I really love this show. My mother actually read the autobiography of the woman that this show is based on. I was wondering if she is involved in the shows productuon in any way?
Hey Glenn..last season there was an episode where the woman's last name was Hanscom..just wondering if there was any significance to that...My maiden name is Hanscom and know there are a lot of us in the East coast...Hanscom AFB, etc. Just wondering because that is such a different name, especially on the West coast...Thanks so much for your time!!! Sarah.
I have really liked this show, but how many of these stories are based on true stories.
i want to say that this has to be the most enticing show on tv today. the way it delves into marital life and real day to day troubles is one the main themes i love to watch for each episode. thanks for handling it in such a strong way!
I love this show! Never know what the twist is! Keep it coming. My husband and I love to figure out the ending. Always keeps us thinking.
I absolutely LOVE the show Medium. I've watched it from it's very first episode and my husband bought me the 1st season disk set for my recent birthday. I have also read the books by Allison Dubois. Linda in North Dakota
awesome show please keep up the good work, hate the wednesday tho.
Fantastic season opener!! My eyes were glued to the t.v. for the entire show!!
My all time favorite show
thanks
Good God Glen....Is that you? This is Sherry Crew from HS and Geneseo..do you remember me...I am so proud for you....i love medium....
Bout Time The Show is Back On My #1 Fav, All Time Fav. Love Allison.............Looking Forward to Hearing from you.......Now Back To My Show.

Glenn, I love the show and was wondering if you ever needed Ideas for the show, and if you did how I would submit the idea. Keep up the good work.

Loved the show, hate her new hair do. It looks like the dutch boy on a paint can.
Hi, Glenn. I really ejoyed all the medium shows. I have cartoon dreams and meditations at times. So, it was nice to know that maybe othes also have them. I studied at a medium's camp for about ten years. I also have dreams, usually that happen in the future, not the past.
Janine
I love the show Medium. I was excited that there was a 2-hr premiere this week. I have been watching the repeats on Lifetime. The characters are all perfect! He is perfect for husband. She is perfect and I love that she isn't perfect, stick thin, and is very believeable. The kids are perfect. Everything is perfect! Don't change anything. Keep it going. (I am a 57 year old married woman and in high school I was a 4-star thespian!)
Hi! I'm so excited to watch the premier of Medium. Seems it's been too long.
I just wanted to congratulate you on the success of Medium. My kids and I watch it together. We love the show. We love the characters, and the completeness of the Dubois family. Their home life is one of our favorite things to watch - it seems so real and natural.
Looking forward to a great season!!
I don't like the fact that Allisons daughter is now having these dreams. I love her character and I don't like how frightened she was tonight. It diesn't matter if the violence is a cartoon. It's still violence.
Hi I have loved watching the past 2 seasons of Medium. Just today's season 3 begin was a bit frustrating due to the many commercials. There was about 7mins Medium and 4mins commercials. That kind of gets people out of the mood.
Loved the show, hate her new hair do. It looks like the dutch boy on a paint can.
Do all the kids of Allison know about her abilities I never caught on to this
And do all the girls have the ability as well??
It occurred to me tonight that I sooo enjoy medium because it is impossible to predict the outcome....The investigator in me always wants to figure out the plot before it unfolds however "Medium" never gives me any clues as yo what the ending is. With so many shows that are remakes and take offs on other plots I am enthralled and excited at the prospect of new episodes...I love you man!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Robin Perry
Wow
On the edge of my seat
Great
Have been waiting for this seasons start and you started it with a bang
I loved it
HI, TRULY LOVE THE SHOW!!
WHERE DO YOU GET THE IDEAS FOR THE SHOW?? HAVE YOU EVER EXPERIENCED PARANORMAL OCCURENCES??
KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!
THANKS
MISTY IN NC
I really don't watch alot of TV, Medium is one I do watch, have been from the begining.
Where did you come up with the idea?
Good Job!
Linda
I love this show - tonights is real good and what a nice surprise it's the 2 hr premiere! I love watching Ms. Arquette and her new hairstyle is great ~ and thanks for building up more character in Alison's Boss and Civil Servant co-worker - lol. okay gotta continue watching - 5 minutes left! :-)
Love the show. I have had similar experiences. You have a greater understanding once the visions have happened to you. Makes you wonder why. I guess I am a fan because I can relate. Keep the great shows coming.....
I enjoy this program. Is any of tonight's episode based on actual cases? If so, which cases were they? Thank you.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH FOR MAKING MY WEEK I GET TO SEE ALISON AND HER FAMILY AGAIN!!!! WOULD LOVE TO SEE MORE TWO HOUR SPECIALS !!!! KEEP MORE COMMING
Is Medium based on any true stories? Do you know any body who has a sixth sense like Allison?
Amazing show, I was wondering
if alison is based on anyone
hey how is allisons godson trevor doing? i prey for him every night and hope he gets better.
I really like the show medium however, i think the show needs a new character, possibly a new detective that can help allison or be a arch enemy of allison's. Someone who could guess star and bring a whole new light to the show. I have ideas. The guess star could haunt her dreams take her on a wild goose chase, make her look crazy possibly making her spend a little time in a pychiatric ward.. there is more if your interested.
I love the show and try never to miss an episode! I am glad it is back! My question is, how do you come up with the ideas for each show? Will Thomas Jane be returning to the show? Will Detective Scanlin finally find someone? (Hopefully)thanks, KCook
I have been a Medium fan from the first show. Tonights show was great but I sure wish you would find a way to lower the amount of murders and surely stop murdering kids.I know there needs to be some violence but killing kids is never necessary. thanks.
i love your show l myself have alot of preminitional dreams. i am really inspired by this show. my brother got murdered in texas 1 year ago and he showed me through my dreams what happened and how it happened to him. i hope you continue this show cause i am living proof that it really does happen to people. sometimes i dream of people before they die, also things that are going to happen before they do. keep it going as long as you can.
All the Show are Great,I am a big Fan.The first couple of shows were a real eye opener for me,for the first time ,I knew someone else was like me. Thanks !
I like the show very much.I actshuly have dreams like that but knowone baleaves me that is fine but i would love to play on a epasode or moore. Please keep me in mind.
Kelly Androski.
Hi Glenn! I'm so glad to see that you are successful once again! It's a great show and you obviously know what you are doing... Am so happy for you!
Hi,
I am a big fan of Medium and would like to know how do you get all your ideas for the show? Also, I wanted to know if it is ok that you cast me on one of your episodes :-)? I know I am being a little too forward but, to not try is like not living.
Thank You,
Sarah
Great show! It was fun trying to figure out what the paintings had to do with everything.
amazing show, i was wondering if alison dubois character is based on anyone
I didn't catch on until I saw the art dealer sitting in the conference room!!! wOW, VERY COOL
Great show...enjoy every episode. Like to see the girls getting involved and how the parents handle their unique situation. I always wonder how I would deal with a "special" child. You know they say children can see what we can't because they don't have the hang-ups, doubts and scepticism we have. I believe it could be true. Thanks again...great show!!
This is the best program (of several excellent programs) on NBC. Please tell us about the writers. The plotting is always gripping, but what I really appreciate is how plausible, how realistic and nuanced you make it. And it's intelligent, but never pretentious. Now THAT'S good writing. Kudos on the casting and characterization, too. No one is ever cardboard or over the top.
Hi Glenn, I am a big fan of your show and have been watching it since (unless I am out of the country) I heard a while back that there is really a woman in real life that Alison's character is based on, as well as the stories. So, is tonight story in also based on reality or is it a true creation of the imagination? Thanks a lot and keep up the great creation.
Best wishes from the New Yorker Medium
I appreciate how this show takes seriously the audience's capacity to engage in the multiple layers of context in which the characters interact. Brilliant show.
I would like to learn more about Allison. I have read her books and think she is wonderful. I think Patricia does a good job in the role. Also like the kids, especially Bridget.
Hi Glen,
Great show!!!! Is commerical time so I thought I'd write.
I've had some other side experiences myself. It might make an interesting show. My distant cousin is Annie Mansfield Sullivan (Helen Keller's teacher.) I lived in her and Helen's house for six years. How they lead me there is a story in itself. Check out my website listed on NBC post and email me if you would like more information.
Keep up the great show and writing. I've watched it from day 1.
C M Burke
I think your plots are getting too convoluted. I loved Medium's first season but now the husband is having visions and the kids have visions. There are visions of others having visions. I wish you would go back and watch the first few Mediums and return to the nice simple plots that were enjoyable.
First off, I love the show. It's always so interesting, like a great puzzle you try and figure out along with the main character. And the home scenes are very real - I have two kids and the juggling of all of our lives is so similar to the show, my husband and I laugh about it. Tonight's episode was very good, but a little dark with the children dying. Do you worry about going too far, getting too dark, in your work?
I really enjoy your show, does a real medium help you out in doing the show? or what its about? i'm really into that and psychic's, I can think about something and it really happens
I like your show. I also have encounters. Thanks for making the show, now people can know that some of these things really do happen to some people.
I am so happy Medium is BACK!!!
ok- have to agree with another post, don't like the hair cut...sorry
How much is the real Allison Dubois consulted on the story facts portrayed in your show?
Glenn,I love the show. I have been trying to get in touch with you for a while.I think you should remember me.
Jane Stepper, Geneseo - GSTV,Kino,etc.
The show tonight was very good. It did keep you trying to see where it was going.
hey Glen, keep up the great work ! ! !
I didn't catch on until I saw the art dealer sitting in the conference room!!! wOW, VERY COOL! This is a really good program. The casting is superb! Patricia's husband's acting tonight was inspired!
If you need a person to fill in a spot, I am available. Would be a great show to pay a visit. Love the story lines. Keep the excellent shows coming.
So Glenn, do you ever have precognitive dreams?
I can't wait until next weeks show!!!
I loved the ending....perfect. *smile. And believe me I am not easy to please.
Thank you for always bringing exciting and gripping action to a Wednesday evening. We love the show!
Why do the dream thing?...unlike the reality of how folks like my wife and Ms Dudois actually do it?
meetthemedium.com
I still love the show.
den
I love watching Medium. Sometimes I wish I could see what she sees... then sometimes I'm glad I can't. It's a great show. Keep it up.
Glenn...LOVE the show. JUst a question...what is the list of music you used tonight during the show? I thought it was amazing and I think ya'll should release a soundtrack of thigns such as the main theme song, etc. Will that ever be in the works?
Hey, I love your show, never miss an episode and neither does my mom. What's the atmosphere on the set and are the kids fun to work with? Also, what's your favorite thing that has happend on set? Thanks Jess
What A Great Show Never Miss An Episode........#1 Fan Here
I had tonight off by pure accident - and boy am I thrilled I did!!
Great show.
Please be very careful with the kids.
My friend lost her son and would like to contact him, any advice?
Great show! I want to know how all this story has been based on a true character, a true "medium" ? How many of these dreams of hers are actually true? You have a great imagination or else she does! Keep up the great work, although I love the show, it is a bit gruesome. I'm glad it shows at later than prime time.
Good luck with the remainder of the season.
I have watched "Medium" from the very first show and I LOVE it, but my question is why the move to Wednesdays? *Curses not being able to run the VCR on this new TV* I have had so many experiences with the "other side", but not in the way Allison does, do you take the shows from her experiences yet? I don't remember for sure. Thank you for such an incredible experience each week last year and in the upcoming year and hopefully for years to come! What a ride.
I was thrilled when I heard about the show season opener.
Finally! The writing is so unique. If you ever want to reward an elementary school teacher with a visit to the set of her all time favorite show...call me. Looking forward to more great episodes.
I love the show, the plots, how Alison is a mom, everything EXCEPT how the violence scale seemed to be increased for tonight's premiere.
Is it possible to continue with the excellent writing, plots, themes without such a depiction of violence?
For some reason, tonight's show seemed even more unnecessarily graphic than some episodes of CSI I have seen.
I would love to continue watching my favorite show on television.
Loved the "dream on" ending.
Hope my dream of having an enjoyable show to watch without having to shudder due to unnecessary violence is possible.
Thanks for the opportunity to blog.
Elle
I have dreams like that alot but i was allwase told keep my mouth shut abot stuff like that and yed i have seen goast and steal do.i would like to do a epasode or moore thank you for this chance.
kelly androski
why does alison have such an awful hair style? it doesn't suit her at all. she's a good looking woman but that style has to go.
Hi Glen,
Loved tonights show, Tell me are you a believer and have you had any personal experience with the after life?
Um, something is wrong with your Web site. The names attributed to the comments are not synching up with the actual comments.
Wednesday's were boring until you moved "Medium." The writing is always outstanding and humane. Do you still get any inspiration from the original person that Allison's character is modeled after?
I love this show and love Patricia Arquette in this role - she is fabulous. And, I have missed the show. I watch very little TV, but never miss "Medium"!
I've loved the show from day one. I hope it never goes away again. Thank you.
GREAT SHOW I am glad the new season started. I wish it were still on Mondays. I work on Wednesdays and get home at 9:15. I just have to catch it after it already starts. This is the best show.
More of the same Great stuff as previous seasons, but with some more twists and art work.
Keep it coming Glenn, my family and friends Love this cast and the storylines are unique and wonderful. Thanks Again !!
I'm very glad the show is fianlly back on. I was really afraid they were going to pull it for some reason. Please don't ever let them take the show off the air...it is BY FAR one of the very best on TV! I've watched since day one and I'll be here until the end, many years from now I hope!
Dena~Kentucky
Hi Glenn I love your show so much. Never let it cut off. I make sure I watch every episodes. I've been watching it since the beginning and I can't get enough. I always miss it when you have to stop for the season. I could never wait for the new season to come. I love all the character never take them out. Again T LOVE YOUR SHOW SO MUCH.
This is the best show on tv,I am glad you are back. Tonights show was great, looking forward to the next one.
I am so hooked on Medium!!! I love the mystery of every show, but most of all I love how the whole family seems to just mesh so well. The whole family is so normal, and loving. Allison and Joe are so great together. I always have a good feeling when the show ends. I have been looking forward to tonight for a long time. I have even been watching reruns lately. Thanks for keeping it going!!!
Glen have you ever been in a coma or had brain surgery? the reason for my ? is i had brain tumor removed and some of the things on this show have happened to me
I love the show because it eases my fears of my own dreams/visions, giving me new ways to view them, without being so afraid of it. Its true you don't control what you "see". I can relate to the show a lot. Thank you.
Thankyou for creating a show that warms my heart and keeps me coming back each week!!!!
Glen,
How did you come up with the idea of the show? did it actually happen to someone you know?
Great story line...BRAVO!KEEP UM COMING...
My husband & I love the show and I was so happy to see that it was premiering tonight. After watching tonights episode I just want to say that I hope that it is not going to change. Medium is not Ghost Whisperer and although I believe that someone with this capability can expand on their abilities, I love the show just the way it is.
Hi Glenn,
I am a great fan of the show. But I always felt odd seeing ("after many episodes worth of medium") the DA and the detective, having solved so many cases with Allison's help, seem to be surprised or doubt her predictions in every episode(as seen in today's episode where the detective keeps laughing in the background when Allison explains that she and her daughter had been seeing cartoon dreams about the case). It sort of diminishes the intelligence of the DA and detective and needs a better character depiction.
-Ram
Thank you for always bringing exciting and gripping action to a Wednesday evening. We love the show!
Glenn, I get so emotional everytime I see the show. Allison, does such a great job. I like the way the family and work is mixed together, that is real life. Keep up the good work.
Why does her Allison's husband have an a European accent, but in last season's episode his mother did not?
I have never seen this show before but it is great!!! I was glued to my tv screen and Im looking foward to next Wednesday!!! GREAT WORK!
Glenn again I love your show a lot. Please keep it up. I love watching the new shows and old.
I was having Medium withdrawls. So glad to see the show back.. It has been missed. Patricia's husband was the perfect "ex"...
You've let the network wreck a great show. There were more commercials than content and it ruined the show. They must have had 40% or more of the two hours devoted to commercials and hype for NBC shows. What a waste !
Bob
I have watched the show since the beginning. I hope the show is going to continue. Are there plans to keep it on??My daughter also watches and loves it. Tonights episode was great, although a little scary at times. I can see how Bridget was frightened.
As one who has a similar job like "Alison" Just a note to say "Thanks" for writing in a realistic, well a more tangible way..a show that is strength through its softness and one that gives me and others a platform to explain the woo woo we do.
I like the last scene you wrote in tonight, nice.
You have a perfect avenue to explain in a loving way what happens to the body as it passes over, have you thought about writing it into a script? You could introduce comfort to many who fear death.
~Cathy
Hi Glen,
I love these characters. Of course the actors portraying them are wonderful. I especially love how real the relationship is between Alison and her husband. They argue like real people. Who were your models for them? I also must admit that for the longest time, I was so upset when I couldn't find the show. I thought that it was cancelled. Not since the original Star Trek have I loved a show so much. Bless you for my new Wednesday nights.
glad to feel other dreamers
i am thrilled you brought back the show..i never have misse done from the beginning when you first started it....exclllent show tonight as always
Wow, what a great show tonight. I loved how the dreams of Allison and Bridget came together when Allison slept with her daughter. I also loved the speach of her husband to the ghost. The third thing i just loved was how all of the different events came together in the end.
My husband has a show idea. Allison is taken into custody, but she manages to escape, which makes her....
a small medium at large!
Well tonight episode was outstanding and superb.I love the animation with the monkeys. You never stop capturing the audience attention.I love it.And this season you are revealing more about devalos and scalon. It's good to see more into who they are.
My question is what do you think is the key element in a good script?
How much imput does Allison Dubois make to the episodes?
Do the writer's draw from the lives of their friends, or from real situations, and how much artistic license and assumption do they utilize when doing so?
I Just have to say that i was so excited that my show was back on. Right from the start to the end it was amazing. Thanks for giving this canadian girl somthing to look forword to each week
This is the best show on tv,I am glad you are back. Tonights show was great, looking forward to the next one.
I was having Medium withdrawls. So glad to see the show back.. It has been missed.Patricia's husband was the perfect "ex"...
Dear Glenn.....Robert and I really enjoyed the show tonight. Couldn't help but think of your amazing talents
back in the good old days and certainly now! Hope you are well and we are so proud! Sometimes high school boyfriends actually stick around! See you at the 40th!!
I love the show but why was it so late starting.....I was getting worried that it wasn't going to come back on tv. The writing is great and the season opening was great. Are you going to have Alison's characters children have more dreams like the mother? Is Alison's brother going to come back? What about Alison's parents, are you going to get them involved?
Thank you for bring such a great show to teleivision.
Love the show, chemistry of cast is one of the best I've ever seen. Tonights show was lacking that special on the edge seat something...hope next weeks car crash episode brings that feeling back.
I Love Patricia's haircut, she looks younger. I would love to have a "blog session" with Allison. Would that ever be possible?
I forgot to ask, how do you choose the guest actors and actresses for each episode? Just wondering as someone who wishes to be an actress one day! Any tips for me for the future or people to contact?
Thanks again
You are still one of the most original minds on TV. Apprecialted that so much in Moonlighting, and you are still pushing envelopes in nicely strange ways in Medium.
I love both shows despite being a brunette.
You got a thing for blonde leading ladies or is that just a coinky-dink?
I am still watching the show as I am writing this but could NOT wait any longer to give my feedback.
I love the show and have been a fan since it started but have been let down (somewhat)......
In the first scene.....the lady was speaking in TAGALOG....the PHILIPPINE language and NOT Indonesia......
Hhhhmmm....maybe I have to finish the the show for the twist?
Hope you got the storyline about that somewhere.
I do love this show and am looking forward to another great season.
But! Whenever Allison has a dream, you have her bolt upright every time. This is becoming a little "unreal".
I have had some very weird and scary dreams and I have never Bolted upright.
Yeah, kind of a trivial question. The show is great!
Grateful to see ethical work on TV regarding the subject of mediumship. I love how they show the humanity of the medium and how interruptive spirit world can truly be. Blessings :)
keep the kid as the perky comic relief. yuck on the comic nightmares
hi glenn, i want you to know that i love this show. i never know whats goin to happen next. i have been wondering if all the girls are goin to have the same visions as there mother does and how will you write that in the show?
I am still watching the show as I am writing this but could NOT wait any longer to give my feedback.

Hi Glenn, nice season opener. I enojoy your show when I can watch it. I have a similar situation in my life only it's my wife who acts the part as the skeptic. I don't see the dead so much as have visions of the future. Usually disasters or bad things in poeoples lives. Tonights show hit home rediculously so, the part in the beginning with her exact words of not being able to make a difference, her reaction the husbands reaction. Keep up the good work, the world needs to know the truth and they need to extend beyond their skins. The truth is the only thing that can change the world, if they know there is more, that and that alone will open their universe and a greater sense of responsibility to the world as a whole.
Well it keeps kicking out my words so I will keep this brief- i love everything about the show except it is not on often enough. It is my favorite on television. Thanks!!!
Hello! Love the show, Glen! I got addicted to it last season!
BTW, if Allison has a dream with a 45 year old female wearing orthodontic braces, I'm available for the guest spot!
LOL!
Keep up the good work!
I HAVE LOOKED FORWARD TO THIS PREMIER FOR MONTHS. I REALIZE THAT THE SHOW IS BASED ON ON A REAL MEDIUM, HOW MUCH OF THE SHOW IS BASED ON HER ACTUAL EXPERIENCES?
HOW MANY EPISODES CAN WE ANTICIPATE? BEING THAT THE SEASON DID NOT START OFF LIKE OTHERS IT WAS LATER THAN OTHERS. I REALLY ENJOY THIS PROGRAM IT MAKES YOU THINK AND MAKES YOU REALIZE THE MIND IS A TREMENDOUS TOOL, AND WE ALL HAVE A SIXTH SENSE IF WE ARE OPEN TO IT. HOPE TO SEE MORE SOON.
Why is Bridget's abiblity to see developing so much faster than her older sister and do you plan on
My wife and I like the show very much and make watching it a regular date, as we did tonight. My only complaint is that your technical research issometimes inadequate. I've noticed mistakes in several episodes last season and had hoped you'd clean it up this season. Unfortunately it appears you still need a good fact checker. The problem tonight lay with the art dealer's weapn. The script called him to say he bought the rifle for skeet shooting. The problem - skeet shooting is ALWAYS done with a SHOTGUN and NEVER witha RIFLE. The dear wife suggested I write and offer my services to review your scripts since3 these mistakes in the details negatively impact your otherwise excellent scripts.
enjoyed the show, however there seemed to be somthing missing.
Hi, I love your show. I have always been intriqued by that type of stuff.
I just wanted to tell you that I have a small indie label with some great talent. Check out the songs on
http://www.myspace.com/normcoleman
It's some really good material. If you or someone you know can use any of it for TV/Film Pleas contact me on that profile.
...For the person who thought Allison's husband isn't supportive....The husband is totally supportive of her!!!! He wakes up at night to comfort her after her dreams, he takes care of the kids as a real father, takes care of housework. He is very loving and affectionate. He is perfect! Great casting!!!
Love the show. It has helped me to better understand myself. The dreams and visitations that I often have. Guess you can say that I can really relate.
Thanks so much
Peace ~ Love ~ Light

Glenn, this is Gene. The show was great and I hope Lynn DiNovi and detective Scanlon get back together.
Glenn: I have been a huge fan of Medium since it's begining.so glad it's back I have been waiting anxiously, and was NOT dissapointed by tonites premire.I take of leave t.v ,if there is something better to do I'm there...but I ALWAYS watch medium..have a little in common with the main character..thanks for such a wonderfully entertaining show
The show is entertaining, I like the way several story lines are developing at the same time. Where do the ideas for the episodes come from, do you look through old case files of crimes? The new haircut has got to go though...sorry
I just love this show but preferred it on Monday nights. Any chance of getting it back there?
I love the show very much! Tell Alison to read the book the Elegant Universe written by a professor at Columbia universty (Brian Green). She will get a better understanding of where her dreams comes from and where spirtis go.
loved the show. glad you are back!!!!!!!
Why is Bridget's abilities to see developing much faster than her older sister and do you plan on developing Ariel's storyline?
Tonights show was Great! I can't believe that anyone would think that it was slow.
Keep up the good work. I promise to watch the commercials so the sponsers are rewarded for their good choice. After all, we wouldn't want this show to be cancelled.
I want to like this program, but it isn't possible. Each season, I decide to give it a chance hoping that her husband won't be so whiney and annoying. Or the snide and belittling remarks from her co-workers so irritating. Allison is a whiner too. By the end of the episode, I can't stand it any more and I don't watch it again. This season is no different. I gave it a try.
Love it. Love it. Love it. I see every episode at least 2 times. Keep up the good work. And, I love all the stars and the parts they play.
I just finished watching the show and I must say I loved it. The Medium is one of my favorites. Looking forward to watching each show.
great show
Where is Glenn?
I have been having dreams like Allison's character for the past 20 years - I'm now 57. I see people I don't even know die violent deaths. I find myself at the scene of their deaths. They are accident victims not murder victims. They have been changing over the years. I used to see terrible things happen to myself and those around me including my pet budgie, Charlie. I am so scared - I medicate myself every night so I don't dream. I don't know how to handle this. What can I do to prevent these episodes or at least to stop dreaming about them. I know that Allison's character is based on the life of a real person - perhaps she can make some suggestions. Thank you
hi glenn
just wanted you to know I love this show keeps you guessing who done it love love love it
deb
Dear Glen,
Only a few people are aware of Allison's abilities, so far. Do you see the show in her revealing her abilities to more people?
Dear Glenn:
Thank you so much for bringing this type of gifts to further light of man-kind.
Many do not know that this type of activity is becoming more and more common.
The children having the gift as well is not a rare thing as many already know.
I love this show and this two hour special, was very special as well.
I have the habit of trying to quess the ending of all shows and caught the ending before it ended. You did a wonderful job as usual.
What I like the most about this show, is the fact that common individuals are gifted as well as the elite. I like that, for in all actuality, I believe that it is perhaps more common in the common folks being they are more down to earth about most things.
The husband being so on the edge about her gifts and that of two of her children, is very common...atleast in my life it was.
I also know that old flames/friends and family members do re-connect...after the transition.
Just a wonderful show and I am grateful you all are back!
Am looking forward to the shows to follow...yeah!
Tonie
I became a fan of Medium last year. I knew about the show but never watched it. Once I learned you created Moonlighting. Once I started watching the show I was hooked.
I like the combination of super hero and super mom.
Loved the show, and I really missed not seeing it in the off season. I dated a daughter of a lady like mediumn so I have frst hand experence.Thank you. Larry
enjoyed the show, however there seemed to be somthing missing.
I've been looking for Medium in the T.V guide for the past three weeks, thinking that maybe it was cancelled. I was so excited about tonights episode that I told my family not to bother me for two hours, and didn't make any plans for this evening. I love this show, any chance it could become a movie?
just hit refresh on the blog home page...all his entries are being uploaded in real time based on questions in these comments.
This is one of my favorite shows, but it's due to equal parts writing and cast. Arquette and Weber are so believable together. They're both just great...I watch for the family dynamic as much as the dreams.
Loved the characters, I did "peice" together the ending a little too quickly though. I knew when she walked into her room and saw the painting and the book open what was up. Thanks again and keep writing!
Medium is one of the few shows that I never miss. I'm so glad it's back and I hope everyone likes it as much as I do so that it will be around for a long time. I like the way the family was put together. My husband asked me tonight if the children were Allyon's real kids. The Dubois look and feel like a real family - not a TV made up one. I also like the little twists that pop up now and then, like today with the Monkeyheads dreams. It would be fun to have Allyson's brother pop in and maybe Clay could help her once in a while on a particularly tough case. Thanks for a unique and interesting show.
Superb show! The writing, the cast, the acting are all top notch. The stories are engaging and keep you interested in the characters and the plot. It's great to have you back on the air. Hopefully, the audience will grow and the ratings rise. NBC is the benchmark for good quality drama. Looking forward to next week's episode. Keep up the quality work.
I think you had to have something in your life that's out of the ordinary to appreciate this show. Well I love this show and I am very happy to have the show come back. Thanks, would love to be a guest on the show.
Jo
I second the motion to have an episode where Allison is taken into custody and then escapes...making her a...SAMLL MEDIUM at LARGE!
Thank You
I really enjoyed tonights' show. There's only one thing I don't understand - - - over the past year or so Allison has appeared extremely "whiny". Why is she like that? She wasn't in the first season and it was much better.
absolute genius...i love the involement of Clay in the story line....you eased him so gently...i did figure the involment of the artist but i didn't expect Clay to have any input i thought he was going to have a typical old boyfriend closure on a unresolved relationship...loved it loved it loved it...looking forward to next week..
Medium is one of my favorite shows. So glad it's back. I love the relationship between Joe and Allison. It is so realistic and not glamorized like most TV shows. Medium is one of the best shows on TV.
Love your show Glenn. I am a bit of a medium myself, and I feel you really know the subject by "the inside". Have you had yourself some personal mediumnic experience, or have experts tell you how it works for them? Luc-Marie
you were oh so talented back in school and one of the sweetest and most genuine guys in oceanside...it seems you did not change....Thank you for some great entertainment and sharing your gift of creativity with all of us...Medium is a great show...as was Moonlighting and Taxi...
You really deserve this success..please e-mail me and let me know what else you have been up to...it is weird I had a dream about paula greenland the other night and i didn't even know her that well...weird..wasn't she your friend?..Sherry crew
Where is Glenn, I thought he was going to blog with us...?
Curious, how did Kelsy Grammar get involved with this show?
I love that the show is back, it's the best thing on T.V., please don't ever change a thing. Why not advertise, thou? A friend called me just as I was going to bed to let me know it was on, 'cause she knows I love it so much. By the way great come back show, loved it!
The actor who plays Alison's husband should get a Emmy for his portral. He is perfect. Wonderful comic relief and great character.
Please nominate him for Actor in a supporting role. Better yet tell us how we can nominate him.
Without him there is no show.
Hi Mr.Caron
Medium is my favorite show. Do you personally believe in esp? Is it true the show is based on the true life of a medium? I would really like to know all this because I see things, but I don't have to be sleeping. I wish I knew how to tune into better so my visions are clearer. I loved tonights episode. Thank you for listening. For me it is true that it is harder to see things for people that are closer to you. Please keep medium on the air, I do enjoy it. Thank You
WOW...what a great 2 hr. premiere!
I'm having dreams of Patricia Arquette again too ....
Where is he?
Glen,
Did you narrate the child's dream in cartoon form so that more families, with children, could watch it together? or was it mainly not to appear too violent? I was glued to the tube! It was sooo believable. I WANT A CAMEO ROLE (SMILES[SERIOUSLY])
Hi
I am still computer challenged,so bear with me.I love the show. All the caracters are super. Please make all episodes whole,my schedule varies and I cannot always watch part 2. Also, woud you consider moving Medium, 1 hour sooner.I have to get up at O dark hundred. This show is os much better than Ghost whisperer.Keep up the good work.
Been waiting months for this. This is the coolest show. And the coolest part is that Allison really exists. I saw her book at the bookstore and realised that the show is based on a real person. I realise that it is loosely based, but it just makes it that much more real. I love the kids and how they have inherited Mom's "gift." Keep on entertaining us, PLEASE!
This has been my favorite show since the first episode. These experiences do happen to people and the dead do return to help one. I know from experience. Sometimes it is difficult to understand why they are there or what they want you to do but it always works out.
First off, it seams the show is going to a new level. It is more artful and more carefully edited than previous episodes. Very well done, Glenn is to be commended. The show is really evolving into something special. I would like to see Toby make a cameo appearance in a future episode.
I have been hooked on Medium since the first episode. The characters are well developed and the actors do a great job in their roles. Look forward to another season.
my mom is a medical intuitive which basically means she works with her hands to feel vibrational sicknesses in people and she gets downloads of information, usually at random from people while feeling intense emotions or just thinking one specific thing. we just wanted to say that most of the ways allison sees things, as energy from a murder taking a form, just as a thought passing through, or even as cartoon dreams, a lot of it is true. she says she appreciates the way the show portrays it because she receives information in a very similar way. i just wanted to say thank you for getting it right. we don't see a lot of familiarity in things like this and it's refreshing to know other people know what they are talking about. so once again thank you.
Hi Glenn. Brilliant! I love the plot twists and turns. The ending was a great surprise! I was hoping her old boyfriend wasn't going to reveal a sinister surprise and cause an accidental death while she was driving so that he could have her for himself. I was always on the edge of my seat not really knowing where the clues would leave. The cartoons were great.
Stories inclusing 3D animation would also be cool.
I like Allison's new haircut too.
Hope you plan on doing more two hour specials. They rock!
I've had many paranormal and psychic experiences. I know loved ones still communicate from the other side. I've had many instances that can not be chalked up to coincidence. I'm glad someone is doing a show incorporating this phonomenon.
FOX is currently shooting a MOW in my town based on John Edward's book "What if God Were The Sun" about communicating with those who have crossed over to the Other Side. People seem to want more spiritual enlightenment, faith and hope.
Bravo and thanks for continuing to entertain us all!
cheers,
Olga
Canada
sorry, just a short question how would i go about getting yours and the cast members autographs i dont think you will come to michigan anytime soon but would love to have you here for filming
Love the show!
I like how you have developed the characters-
What plans do you have in developing the character of Lee?
if this was on every day, I'd be a daily communicant. I like Allison, her husband, the cop, the boss, the kids; they are all so real and regular - sometimes grouchy, etc.; the love btn Allison and her husband. What I am wondering is - is there any way to get your bible?
To the ones here who have posted entries that they have similar experiences to Allison on the show, just accept it and be grateful.
I just checked on the posts and POST is NOT MINE.
I am LGates and my original comment was about the TAGALOG language in the very first scene.
That post shows "by Donna" and there are other posts appearing under my name and are NOT MINE.
Hhhhmmm......
This show relates to everyone. When you sleep tonight, you lay down and close you eyes, you enter into a world that is beyond the physical. It is an experience that we all share. Yet most don't believe. The fact is that some have a greater connection than others, but it is all there. This show puts a twist on it but your dreams are powerful and your experience is real. Your proof is Deja Vu. Appreciate and enjoy it.
This show has been the best show in a very long time. All the actors are exceptional and each fit their role perfectly. I have read Allison Dubois "Don't Kiss Them Good-bye and Patricia was and is so perfect for this role. I am so pleased that this show is on and like others, would love it on more. Thanks for making it a happening.
Thank-you!!! I've missed my favorite show ever!!!I thought you left us......Tonights show was incredibly fantastic! I hope with my heart you are here to stay. This is one of the only shows I watch religiously. I've written about this show in our college paper (in the past) and have encouraged every one to watch this episode. I've read both of her books. This hits close to home and for some people it's nice to know there are others out there. Some individuals gifts are stronger than others. Thanks again, this also gives others faith that there is life after death. For those who have other beliefs, it's compelling. Thanks again, I hope you have a Great Thankgiving! This was part of mine!!!
i love where the show is going, and i was wondering where you all get ideas for it. and, if someone was wanting to begin a career writing this type of material, where would you start?
S.C. wrote:
"Good God Glen....Is that you? This is Sherry Crew from HS and Geneseo..do you remember me...I am so proud for you....i love medium...."
To S.C,
He's married, he has a life ... don't be haunting him.
Hi Glenn,
Love the show. Medium is the only show that keeps me glued to the TV. Tonight's show was fantastic!!! Keep up the good work. Thanks!!
Loved tonight's show...so glad that it's BACK!!!! Leaving it out of NBC's lineup at the beginning of the season wasn't making me a happy camper. I'm smiling now though.
And I'm not really into psychic stuff, but this show is great...both writing and cast. The kids are super good.
I'm with those that think "the husband" is a great character. I like the way he's being developed.
And isn't her haircut the cutest? Many here are too old to know/remember but it is very reminiscent of Keely Smith (go ahead, google it and take a listen).
Thanks for coming back. Netflix can get the past seasons back now.
I love the show. Edgey, but in a realistic way. The kids are what does it for me. And the interactions between all family members are always interesting. Thank-you for a first rate program!
I would just like to say I really like this show and I am worried that it will become too much like a Horror show as the end of last season did. Please leave it the way it was. The scary Horror is not needed, the show is great. If it turns into Horror it won't be watched by my family and that would be sad. Tonight's show was great! Just right! Keep up the good work!
I love your show. I't one of the best shows on TV. Keep it comming.
Glen, love your show! It's great how Joe supports her! I would think that it would be hard enough to be a medium without someone to feel safe with.
Someone said that they didn't like Alison's new hair do. I love her hair. It's a more professional look and working for the DA is a respected profession. She only looked like a soccer mom before. My compliments to the stylist.
Your inclusion of diabetes lacked the depiction of the specific type which is Type 2. Diabetes is really a group of diseases, Type 1, Type 2 and gestational for examples. Unlike Type 1 which is an autoimmune disease, Type 2 risks can be less, often with awareness of family history and awareness regarding lifestyle choices concerning diet and exercise as Type 2 is most related with obesity.
It was unfortunate that you did not mention that this was in fact Type 2 diabetes that you were portraying. If you do address these issues in the future, this would enhance the publics knowledge regarding "diabetes" and why and who it effects.
Thank You for any consideration,
Sandra
a Mom and diabetes advocate since 1999 when my 3 year old daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes which has no known cause and no cure to date.
When was the last time you saw someone shoot skeet with a rifle? I would like to see that, seeing how that would be a amazing! What's even more amazing is how someone can be totally engrossed by a story until something "stupid" happens to take them out of the "flow". Next time, do some fact checking!
I disagree with the comments about Patricia's coiffure - it looks great, and she is extremely attractive. But, I agree that Jake Weber's performance tonight was superb, as was Miguel Sandoval's.
Hello Glenn I love the show and enjoy every episode,I am a medium my self and see things,I also talk to the spirits,I am glad that they brought out a show about mediums. Now people can see how we work.Lady Cenda
Woo-hoo. Glenn...where are you???
This is the best show ever. There is no other show like it. It is deffinately an original. It keeps me glued to the television. Great job guys!
thank-you. i'm sure your show has helped alot of people understand that it's ok to be different and that there not crazy. everyone has a unique gift of some sort
I agree with the comment about Allison being more "whiny", I thought the same thing. I like it better when she isn't so "crabby".
Today is my birthday and I have been rewarded with a 2 hr premiere of Medium. I have been a fan from day one and was so disappointed to not see it in September. So I watched the old shows to get my fix.I love the casting and the story lines. I read a lot about the various psychics like Sylvia Brown, James Van Praagh, John Edward etc.Of course I also like the competition such as Ghost Whisperer but there is room for all of you. I will look up the material on Alison Dubois and read her too. My congratulations and thanks to you both. I too would like to see you develop Alison's brother's role. These characters are very realistic to me and I feel like I could easily know them and enjoy them. Thank you. Dale B in Canada
I am soooo glad Thomas Jane was on the show tonight.I don't know how Patricia can share that hunk with her fans.He put the spark in the haunting affair.Love ya Jake but Jane is a wow factor.I can see why she is a happy camper now.Love ,love the show and it could easly beat "Greys" anyday. A Happy Medium fan who will have some Jane dreams tonight!!!
I remember the actor who plays Detective Scanlon played a role in the Canadian series Traders.
It is so good to see him working and in this series. He helps make it a success.
I smell Emmy.
Love the show...Watching Allison & her family let's me know my household is not as odd as I thought. The premiere tonight with the "old flame" has been a major issue in my home for over ten years now. All attempts to get him to leave have failed...So, it's fun to me to see how you figure your story lines in parallel to my life...Keep Up The Great Work!!!
I would think that Allison is crabby because she is EXHAUSTED. All of that interrupted sleep.
Marily Chernack, try exercise. Many times it cleanses oneself and creates a more unattached experience when they do come. It also gives a clearer perception and creates well being. It's like a light switch when you do this, your perception of the experinece can be altered greatly from negative to postitive or at least less negative. Always works for me give it a try. Good luck
I remember Jake Webber when he was in the Pelican Brief and Meet Joe Black. I'm so glad he finally has a major role. Can I nominate him for an Emmy for best supporting actor? He deserves it.
Where do you get those ideas? My fovorite show thus far, was last season, when there was a blind gal, being visited by the crazy nieghbor. I love the twists and turns of the show, keep up the good work and thanks
Awesome show... this is the start of a great season. I can't wait to see how it pans out. Lynn's character is really growing - it's great- she should def. have more scenes! :)
Can't wait to meet you guys!
Flippin fantastic mate! I was relaxin with me shiela tonight, waxing a carrot for morale, when I says to meself, this show would go over like roo on a stick in Aussie land. Ever consider broadcasting down under?
Crabby??? CRABBY??? You try having night after night of bloody nightmares...kids waking up at all hours with night terrors...and having an admittedly cute but rather obtuse husband who seems insanely jealous of a dead guy...trust me, you'd be crabby too. I know I am!
Really missed the show & I am so glad to see a new season. Why did the season start so much later than the usual season premiers (late Sept) & I was disappointed that NBC didn't air reruns in the summer either. I so looked forward to the timeframe that Medium & was pretty upset when another show came on! I thought Medium was off air for good.
Anyway, great to have the show back & look forward to more great episodes. A favorite show for me. Thank you.
Comment to those that believe Allison's husband is a whiner...wow! Can you imagine sleeping beside someone that dreams the dreams she does? How about adding children dreaming dreams that upset them as well? Then having a husband cleaning up and attending to those children so that Allison can continue the valuable work that she does for man-kind. I don't know what kind of guys these gals have that make them more special than Allison's husband...he must be pretty special and highly unusual...for most men don't attend to their wife's left undone chores or matters with the children...cooking, cleaning, getting to them dress and driving them to school. Atleast in my life-time, I didn't experience this occurring that often.
I find Allison's husband to be quite believable and long past the norm...my guys were more concerned about what I could read about them when I wasn't with them...hmmmm...Allison's husband's concern is more about her and what her dreams are a doing to her.
That isn't the norm...excuse me, for being so blunt about it.
Good job again Glenn!
Your show and actors and actresses are the total run...keep it a going, please!
The cartoon characters dream state was genius. I don't dream in cartoons...yet for the child and her age...simply genius!
Tonie
Medium is an enjoyable, compelling show. Good stories, good depth of character. I'm an very uncommon blogger.
Without making an issue out of it, I'd like to see less violence against children in my leisure entertainment. You don't do it much, thankfully, and it was handled well in tonight's epidose with the cartoon.
Anyway, someone spoke of who should return to upcoming episodes. I'm not sure if it was the actor (he's fine, really) or the "character", but I didn't care for her brother. Capt. Push, now that's a different story. Bring Arliss back!
I was just looking at imdb.com and they indicate the show running 2005-2006. But aren't we starting the THIRD season?!?
Anyway thanks for the show. My wife and I don't miss any of them. Much more soul than Ghost Whisperer. That was the best noun I could come up with. ;^)
Happy Holidays.
Tomtacks (Mark)
Where can you see his answers? I keep refreashing and only new comment and questions keep popping up no answers.
Great show, although the pieces fell in to place for me at the 3/4 mark.
There has been one little thing nagging at me for some time. I collect cell phones, and was wondering why does Allison's Motorola RAZR sound like a Nokia when it rings?
I was worried that Medium had been cancelled.....thank the t.v. gods it wasn't. I have watched the show from the beginning and have never been disappointed with one episode. I must tell you something that I feel is key to the ongoing success of your show....are you ready....I had a DREAM that I was in your show!!! I am anxious to share my insights with you!!!
I watch the show with my 15 1/2 year old. We both love the show...tonight especially she was like what's up with the beer they are constantly drinking beer with every meal. That is just not reality....moreso that the woman is doing it. It looks trashy. What I love about this show is that the characters look real like every day people. They are very natural. No other show on TV can pull that off. The main little girl tonight is so adorable and a great actress. She always manages to make us laugh.
i think the whole skeet with a rifle probably works with the art dealer's character - "Hello" he was the guilty one in this case - the character himself was a liar, a cheater with authentic art, therefore doesn't know anything really about shooting etc, so how about that 'error' being a write off?
This show just works for me and best that the premiere was so late into the season anyways - I'm down to my fave 3 shows this season and medium is top! So can Alison be a medium for a case that doesn't involve murder - but say a violent crime that leaves a person (woman) scarred for life? If only psychics/mediums were really used in the police/investigations unit :-(
Glen,
I love Medium. I am so glad it is back. I was so worried about the late season opener, watching and waiting and fearing. Oh no, where is it. Oh, there it is, and wow was it great. I love your clever, unpredictable way you write each and every show. It shows you care about every little detail. Keep up the awesome work. It is truely my favorite show ever.
Lisa Deneault-Fox
go to http://blog.nbc.com/medium/ and refresh that page.
I just love this show and everyone on it! I like it so much that I wrote a song that would go very well with it, called 'Dream Gift'. I would like to share it with someone if I could! I really love how they have a very good marriage and how they are best friends. They remind me of my own marriage. I love the little girl that had the monkey dreams this week. She should go far and adds so much to the show. Patricia (the medium) is wonderful and love her ability to be so down to earth and real! Thanks Lisa Maynard
I've been watching since the very first episode - keep up the great writing. Great season premiere but couldn't stand the fact that the opening scene had the woman speaking really bad Filipino but then said they were in Indonesia.
Love the show, I think the story lines have been fresh and exciting all along, and tonight was not a disappointment. Keep up the great job. I'll see you next week at the same time. Wouldn't miss it.
Hi GGC. I'm so glad that your show is back on the air. All of your shows have been wonderful but tonight's was the best ever! Your use of cartoons to reflect a child's dreams is truly brilliant! Your writing is also simply beautiful and touching. Thank you for creating such a great show!
So glad it's back on! It's our favorite show. Love the realistic portrayal of relationships and reactions. Great opener tonight -- so complex! Are the stories all fiction, or are some based on truth? Please give Patricia back last year's hairstyle!
Judith and Jim
Some people are way too critical! This is just a television show for entertainment. It's not an after school special. If you can't stand the heat, turn the channel!
Excellent premier. I've watched this show from the beginning because I am very interested in the subject matter but my attention had wained last season. I'm back because I saw a depth in tonight's show that I was missing. Kudos. I like that you have begun to include her daughter's psychic abilities. That little actress is quite a character--excellent casting. Actually excellent casting for all the roles. The husband is one that we all would like to have.
Good move to cut her hair. She looks MUCH better. I always wanted to pull her hair back into a pony tail because Patricia always looked so uncomfortable with the previous length. It was an inbetween awkward length before. In addition to comfort, she is much more stylish. I know, after I spoke about the new debth I see, I'm going on about her hair. Ha. Well, I'm interested in all aspects of telling a story and we know all the elements are part of the story.
Thank you for bringing this controversial area to main stream America. I hope it has opened up some otherwise closed minds to the gifts of mediums and psychics. Bravo for you.
I love this show. I was frustrated for weeks because I couldnt find it. So glad to have it again. I am psychic and find the show facinating. I have had some similar experiences, and can relate to Alison. Thank you for an exellent portrayal of psychic events. Keep up the great work!
I have been a fan of The Medium from the first performance. Arquette - and the rest of the cast - are genuine, feeling and accessible to even a tv audience. I don't know what is wrong with NBC- for not notifying all your avid viewers how late the show would come in the season; I feared the bozozs at the top had cancelled it - and the high number of commercials were so irritating and intrusive, I decided to put the mute button on and do house chores while they all went to market a dozen times. The Medium is obviosuly the best show they have this season (or last)and I hope they treat it and its audience with more regard. YYou (your writing is quite outstanding) and the whole technical staff should be congratulated daily, as you have found a formula to navigate the dangerous waters of presenting "the others" and reality in a sensible and dramtic way. Stay true.
OK, writers of the show, I'm talking to you now. I really do like the show, it's one that I usually can relate to.
However, I have to guess that none of you have ever shot anything with any kind of a gun. Do you know the difference between a rifle and a shotgun? Can you tell me if the scenerios shown of the murders were likely to create the wounds of one more than the other? And when our "art dealer" said he bought a rifle to shoot skeet with, did you even think twice about what kind of a gun and "ammo" was used to shoot skeet? (And do you know that there is a game bird of the same name?) Next time you want to write about guns and the "damage" they do, maybe you should check into what kind of "damage"they do!
Please change Allison's hair.
TO PB...
I have a life as well and 2 wonderful, successful, grown sons...my message was genuine about an old classmate and actually...come to think of it... your rudeness does not dignify a response.
Hey Tomtacks....this is the start of the FOURTH season. You can get Seasons 1 - 3 at Netflix.
You can submit at correction to IMDB and they'll clean it up.
Patricia needs to project her voice/increase her volume. Her lines are often "lost" due of her style of persentation. My son lives near Paradise Valley...I visited for the first time this summer so I was excited to hear the name of the area on tonight's episode. Love the area! Would like to meet the real "Medium." Does she blog?
Hey, Ming tet su
That's why they make chocolate and vanilla.
I'm glad you don't like him. Then I can keep him.
I love the show and own the first 2 seasons on dvd. But why is her husband so unsupportive of her? He is always cutting her down.
I have the recipe for Krabby Patties and it is for sale to the highest bidder EXCEPT Plankton because he is not nice. I love the oboe and the sponge and starfish next door are driving me nuts.
GET BACK TO WORK SQUIDWARD!!!!
Michelle, I agree the character of the art dealer may have been the type to not know about the type of gun used to shoot skeet, but wouldn't the police interogating him know the difference?
Re: Future of 'diabetes arc' involving police chief
I was quite interested to hear that the police chief was diagosed with Type 1/2/1.5 diabetes in tonight's episode (it was not clear which - insulin has traitionally not been the treatment of "first resort" for Type 2, but that attitude is changing). Although the "first symptom" of total blindness seems unlikely, though perhaps possible certain cases of Type 2. In Type 1, blood sugar would rise to the level of inducing coma before severe retinopathic damage began. The first symptoms of either type would be excessive thirst and excessive urination, as the kidneys attempt to reduce blood sugar by eliminating glucose from the blood (and water with it). This would occur above a blood sugar of approximately 150-200 mg/dL.
I am Type 1 myself (diagnosed a bit late at age 27). I would *strongly* advocate introducing mention of the book Dr. Bernstein's Diabetes Solution (and perhaps the good doctor himself) into the show during the next season as part of this new long-term arc. The website for his book is http://www.diabetes-book.com/
I am familiar with the "standard" treatment plan for diabtetes, both Type 1 and 2 - exercise and diet, and insulin if needed (in Type 1). Exercise is sensible, as it raises insulin sensitivity of all body tissues. First I will discuss the standard and "Bernstein" diet briefly, then my own personal experiences with it, as compared to the "standard" diet.
The diet, however, in my opinion, as well as several "heretical" doctors in the US, as well as several thousand diabetics across the US and the world, makes NO sense whatsoever. The diet recommended is one which is approximately 60% carbohydrate. That means it is aproximately 60% sugar.
Would any doctor recommend that a gluten-intolerant individual eat lots of gluten-containing wheat? No. But this is *exactly* what doctors recommend for diabetics - who are essentially "carbohydrate-intolerant"
This was *not* always the standard advice. In the 1910's, before the discovery of insulin, the recommended diet was one which was necessarily low in carbohydrate, high in fat, and strenuous exercise. This treatment did not work very well without insulin, and was criticized by some as being inhumane. Yet it allowed a few children to survive until insulin was discovered in about 1923.
Now, over 80 years later, we have apparently forgotten this wisdom - believing that injected insulin works perfectly - which of course it does not. There is only *one* doctor who has "rediscovered" this rational method of diabetes control. This is Richard K. Bernstein - who advocates a diet limited to no more than approximately 52 grams carbohydrate per day, moderate amounts of protein, and the rest composed of fat (most of the brain, heart, and most other body tissues can use fat as an energy source)
Now for my own experience: I was "put" on the standard diet when I was diagnosed, and given blood-sugar targets (a fasting BG of under 120, and a two-hour after-meal BG of under 180 according to currently ADA standards). I was never told what non-diabetic blood-sugar was (accepted as 80 or 83, with a "normal range" of 70-90)
I ate the standard diet for about 2 weeks. My blood sugar fluctuated between 60 and almost 300. I was almost constantly tired, especially after meals (high blood sugar results in fatigue, a well-known effect). After two weeks, I had had enough, and began a diet resembling the Bernstein diet. Within *days*, my blood sugar had dropped to within the normal range. Within a month, I would regularly have blood sugars of around 70-75, at the low-end of the normal range. The fatigue disappeared immediately, and my tolerance of low-blood-sugar episodes (always a danger when insulin is required) increase significantly. I am now able to maintain sugar-levels between 70 and 110 almost constantly.
This diet is safe. It has been shown to be so empirically by hundreds of Dr. Bernstein's patients, as well as thousands of other people around the world. A similar low-carbohydrate, "ketogenic" diet has been used successfully and safely in some cases of childhood epilepsy. Cholesterol and other statistics for this group of people are usually *better* than non-diabetics. I have reduced my risk of complications to almost zero, far better than would be if I maintained the ADA's recommendation of an "A1C" (gycosylated hemoglobin test) of 7% - which is still un-attanable for may diabetics. Non-diabetic A1c is generally between 4.5 and 5.2% - my last A1c was 4.9%. Dr. Bernstein actually *reversed* his complications (kidney and eye disease, as well as a number of other complications) by use of the diet which he invented.
I am a member of the web-forum for Dr. Bernstein's book, found at http://www.diabetes-book.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl, under the user name of jim_w, and can be reached there.
Thank You

OK Squidward, I'll give you 3 years free obeo music lessons for that recipe.
I'm Ready!
So sorry, didn't mean to offend. (wasn't written by P.B., the signature is below the post,) I was only kidding; I couldn't resist joking because you were coming from "high-school past" like the character who haunted Allison in tonight's episode.
SCENES IN BED
Is it possible to have fewer scenes in bed as Allison & husband both MUMBLE so much it makes it hard to hear especially fot the hearing impaired like me that don't have subtitles on their TV. Would appreciate your feedback. Love the show since the beginning !
Jim Witte get a life. What a dork. I have a hangnail, but you don't hear me complaining!
Jim W,
excellent comments!!
Isn't it amazing that writers don't have to know ANYTHING? I want that job, so I can decide what and how just about anything happens!!!!!!!!!
Allison is an amazing woman, she is a true hero, she is intelligent, inspiring beautiful and the rest, words can not expain. I think her kids are wonderful and her husband is very caring ,understanding .This woman has it all, even though she has the bad dreams, she also has the knowledge to save the lives of the people of her dreams. This show is mind blasting incredible! MEDIUM had all the perks tonight, drama, action, some comedy, inquisitive thriller.
I hope the rest of the season is this exciting! Thank God for NBC , my TV wont be the only thing sitting in the living room on wednsday nights.
Good evening to you!! I'm recording the show while sending you this because as I was watching the part where there was a woman (prostitute) who was speaking in Tagalog" not Indonesian, just have to send you this immediately. I'd like to know why not say Philippines instead of Indonesia? I really am a regular viewer of Medium and always record the show when I know that I won't make it on time to watch it. I am fascinated by the stories and the characters. Patricia Arroquette is a perfect choice for the role of Allison. Got to go! Good Luck and many more episodes for many many years to come. "Happy Thanksgiving" and thanks for bringing Medium to the viewing public.
Keep the beer and keep the scenes in bed. More real than not.
Love the show, but where are you Glenn?
After waiting so long to see Medium back,I missed it.I raced home after work to a dark house. We quite literally had the storm of the century here and didn't have any power. Is there any way to get a copy of the episode,or at least a replay date?
When I heard that NBC had taken Medium of the fall schedule I email NBC and blasted them.
Many thanks for a very good show.
The resuming of "Lost" is scheduled 2/07 in the exact time slot of "Medium". This is a confusing surprise. Can't imagine what the powers behind this were thinking.
mmm.. nice design, I must say..
Nice site you have!
Lavoro eccellente! ..ringraziamenti per le informazioni..realmente lo apprezzo: D
The information I found here was rather helpful. Thank you for this.
HOW CAN I GET TO A WEBSITE IF THE REAL MEDIUM, ALLISON HAS ONE?
Am I the only one who thinks that Sofia Vassileva, Alison's daughter on Medium looks just like Alison's brother Michael (ryan Hurst)???
Is it his daughter????

I'm sorry I missed the premier and have to watch the show on my computer screen in a less comfy chair. I was wondering if the 2 hr premier was to air again.
How much of "Medium" is fiction and how much based on actual events. I hope this show doesn't give way to ridiculous "Carrie" "Poltergeist" type of fantasy fiction.
