detective benson and stabler make a good couple in the show
to get El and Olivia together? lol, jk. I don't know why, my theory is that they were looking at the reality of it. If you were married to someone who worked in that profession who spent maybe an hour each day with you, sometimes not even that, would you stay with him...or her? I would want to believe that it wouldn't matter, but it would most likely affect your relationship. If you were Kathy, would you put up with it? Wouldn't you think you deserved more? She's put up with it for how long now, and it's not like she is superwoman. Im sure she wants to feel loved...
All I'm saying is why couldn't they keep the character a dedicated family man like he's been. Not all marriages end in divorce. I just thought it was great the way they portrayed Elliot's character. They could let them have problems but why go to the length of letting them divorce just let them stay married.
I dont mean to be a rude or anything Kaysee, but havent the ratings gone up considerably since the first season? Am I right in saying that? So obviously that means that Neal knows what he is doing and even if you and your 'many friends' stop watching there will still be a bunch more who have been watching and will continue to watch.
Well I guess some people are getting there wish. Elliot signs the divorce papers in an upcomming episode. I for one along with quite a few of my friends will no longer watch the show. To me it is becomming like all the other shows out there. I like that fact that at least one of the chracters was married and and believed in the vows he took. Couldn't the writers think up somthing original? Why couldn't they leave the chracter's they way they were first introduced to the show? I think that they forgot that some people do still stay married these days. Now they have no character on the show married with a family to go home to. I've lost interest now.
That is not the reason Elliot married Kathy. He married her because he loved her. If you remember in one episode he was talking to a character named Evan about having sex and he told him that it was supposed to be about love. So I am very very sure that Elliot loved and still loves Kathy. Always has and always will.
The only reason why Elliot married Kathy in the first place was because she had gotten pregnant with Maureen. I seriously doubt that they would have gotten married in the first place had she not. Besides, it's hard to be the wife of a police officer! Honestly, Kathy's better off without Elliot. She needs a man who can be there for her,emotionally, mentally and physically. Elliot, with what he sees and deals with eveyday can't give her that. When it comes to Olivia-- She knows. She understands. She sees. She witnesses. She feels. She's with him, every step of the way. A long, lonely dark road and they should travel it together. Thank you.
We know who Elliot belongs with, his wife Kathy. The only part Olivia should play in his life is that of friend and partner. I think they should keep it they way it was first written and not take the way of other shows by hooking up the two main characters.
i agree theres more than half that want e/o together just give us some e/o loving and get rid of dani or you will be responsible for my stroke.

There's only one true pairing on this show. We all know it. Everybody knows it. Half of the audience is composed of it. Get the freaking divorce finalized already! Yeah, I don't like Dani either. There's just something weird about her. I think that Olivia and Eliot are going to realized they are in love with each other!! There's been some hard core sexual tension between them for some time!

Wow, after reading these posts Im all giddy now. look at all those who support E/O, boy am I happy not to be the only one. Theres like, what,three people who posted that said they wanted Elliot and Kathy together? Everyone to their own i guess, but E/O forever! I miss Olivia, but since you guys know what your doing I trust you. it's the best show out there, with the wit, the emotion, and E/O of course. Im not a Dani fan however...I think I cringed a little watching her and Elliot interact for the first few minutes before i had to leave the room, (i left my tv on that channel just so your ratings wouldnt go down one person...cuz im SURE*do you sense sarcasm here?* i count on the rating scale lol) But im going to try watching the show full through the whole hour next week, hopefully ill be able to handle it because i do love the show and i love the other characters. To all E/O shippers out there I fear there might be a new ship is ready to launch. One that could either pass or be on the tails of our beloved pairing. Mmm-hmm. You guessed it. Elliot/Dani. *shudder* Hopefully, any pairing that our overrated writing team conjures up with brief and short. And we don't have to see it. Sadly, I fear Elliot wil still be married when he quote on quote "gets close to Dani" unquote. Totally betraying what he stands for. Remember the earlier episodes when he refused to cheat on Kathy? Now he's gonna do it? Who is this writer anyway? Anybody know? Maybe, just maybe if the writers decide to sail Ellvia, Elliot will be divorced and sane again.

I just love the interaction that Eliot and Oliva have together. I just knew that they will be back together again. I Just love this show so much. Keep it interesting, but I was worried a little bit though.
The show has been successful up to now with the relationship just the way it is, don't go messing it up now.
Law and Order SVU is the best show ever, Stabler and Benson made the show good. Also with the other detectives...Munch, Fin. With Stablers anger and Bensons caring heart...I dont know if the show is going to stay the same. But hopefully Stablers new partner Dani is cool. I think it will be different...but it just might be just as good as the other ones...just different.

If Mr. Wolf is not happy about that, you can tell him it's all Chris and Mariska's fault (well, it is!). But it'd be silly not to take advantage of all that chemistry, don't you think?
One more thing, with all the hints I still have no idea what's going to happen to Liv! What is it she finds out?? And could you please tell me (or at least give us another hint!) if this "fondness" is more than partner-ly or friendly?
Please keep Kathy and Elliot together. He is the only main character that is married. That is one of the things I like about this show. Not every show has to be about the two main characters getting together. If that happens it might as well be on daytime with all the other soap operas.

Take a leaf out of Chris Carter's book. Your main characters can love each other without all of the relationship issues. A kiss (one kiss)could also help things. Just don't make a big deal out of it. Natural. Just natural. Sweet, slow and subtle. That's the key.
The absence of Mariska will only make the relationship b/w her and Elliot that much better. They will have time to figure out their lives and how the other fits into it. I cant wait to see what groundbreaking experiences they both go through and also the outside stories of the other characters as well. thats what really makes the show!
I think SVU has the perfect formula right now. I understand that from time to time you have to write in and out absences, but this show could go alot of different avenues with this cast. Their chemistry is among the best of all shows on network tv today.
You have sex crimes going on that never get reported. Online bullying and "sexual bullying" in the junior highs. This could be addressed on the crime shows and not get old.
It would be cool to see guest spots from cable actors like: Ian McShane or Mary Louise Parker.
I think another thing that would get all parents, teens and young adults tuned in would be to take some of the stories ripped from the headlines in regards to the internet. We know how kids can be from 11-14 and this cast could carry off some really good storylines on the subject. Good luck.

How come the teaser at the end of the show appears as though it is completely unrelated! Don't get me wrong... you have done an incredible job with SVU! I have been hooked since DAY 1!! But it just seems as though we won't find out what is happening to this EDGe group. I know that Olivia is going undercover with the feds but what I am wanting is a conclusion to the EDGe part of the Story Line!!
Some people have talked about a soap opera ending .... this is as bad or worse of a cliffhanger than some of the recent ones on Passions!!

I understand creative license but please be fair. Showing animal activists as militant radicals is placing a negative characterization on less than one percent of a very peace-loving population. People need to understand that animal activists are simply people who speak out against cruelty to animals. They are not blowing up buildings. They are completely against violence. They are standing up for the voiceless.

Olivia has always been Elliots stabilizer, keeps him in check. With her gone you could really take the mental breakdown he was in the midst of last season to a new level, more unpredictability.
Love SVU..love them all. But don't like not seeing Stabler without Benson. Hope there's no "relationship" coming...that's just wrong. It would spoil the show.

I have done counseling as a volunteer, so I would like to see the male rape angle in more shows. Are you filming on 35mm film or Super 16mm? Who does the lab work? Technicolor?

I don't like this stuff with Elliot at all. I would love to see the relationship with his wife restored. I love the older episodes where you see him interacting with his family outside of work and that adds so much to the episode and to his character.
The cast is talented enough to carry the show until October. But where are all of Munch's sarcastic diatribes? I miss those days...

If you are going to portray animal activists as crazy radical individuals, then at least show what they are so passionate about. Show a lab where animals are tortured senselessly. where they have their vocal chords removed so that they cannot scream. Is it really radical- or simply humane to want to stop this cruelty?

I am sure that you get questions like this all of the time, but how does one become involved with this show? I think the writing and the organization of the story lines are so amazing. Neal- dynamite job on SVU over the years. It's my favorite L&O because we get close to the main characters in tehir personal struggles.

I love SVU. It took me 1 episode to fall in love with it and I know I've got at least 4 of my friends hooked.
I am a long time SVU watcher and also spend countless although fun filled hours watching the USA re-runs and all day marathons. I work at a Medical Examiner's Office, and we all love the show! Keep up the fabulous work! Im cool with Liv being away, as long as its only for a little while

As much as I love Olivia's part on the show, I think it will be nice to see a change. The show focuses a lot on Benson and Stabler and their chemistry, and I'm excited to see something entirely new.

So Olivia and Elliot will reunite as partners. Why not reunite the dynamic cast of Seasons 2-4 and bring back Stephanie March as well. We already know that Alex Cabot is out of WPP.

First, I have such respect for CI and SVU – can’t wait to see how the season plays out.
Second, just wanted to say how sorry I am to hear about Mariska’s father’s passing recently – I was SO happy about her Emmy (and simultaneously saddened that Chris didn’t take one home as he definitely deserved it) but so saddened that her father died soon after. I hope to see her back soon on the show but respect her need to take care of her new baby and deal with her loss.

Hey Neal. I've been a production sound mixer in Florida for 20 years and even though I work in the industry, those of us below the line still have our favorite shows, too. And SVU is one of mine! My only comment would be that, after working on the tv show COPS for twenty years across the country, I would love to see a little more detail paid attention to keeping police procedure realistic. I understand creative license of course, but some of the things I see done on all the L&O shows just makes me either laugh or shiver. In my conversations with police officers, they generally just shake their heads (usually because they don't want to admit they love the show too!). But thanks for your work and keep this great show going and keep us on the edge of our seats!
