Yay, Mariska's back.. and looking hotter than before! I didn't think that was possible, but she looks GOOD with her "baby pudge". She looks more REAL too.. Oh man, keep Olivia home! Dani wasn't even a breath of fresh air. And now.. SVU is back to STUPENDOUS! :)

loved this episode...kept me on the edge of my seat. She's back...and not one scene with dani. This made me happy. I know that dani is most likely going to be back for like another episode or for however long but this one was Dani free...yay

I personally doubt it but a girl could dream and if he is, would it be to much to ask for him and Olivia to finally have a scene together that lasts more then one sentence? Hi, I am a huge fan of all three Law and Orders. Last night I watched the brand new episode where you had a 17 girl with Turner's Syndrome as the victim.
First of all, I would like to say thank you for bringing to the public, in however an inadvertent way the knowledge of Turner's Syndrome. I am 24 years old and was diagnosed with the chromosomal abnormality at the age of 5. There are not a lot of people out there who are aware of it. I was pleasantly surprised and delighted to find that one of the main characters, even if they were only on for one episode, had the mosaic form. The people who researched the disorder did an excellent job and I hope that we may get to see the girl and her boyfriend later on in the season.
Second of all, while the information on Turner's Syndrome was correct, I felt that the character of Janey was a little unrealistic in the way that she dressed.
While I admit there maybe girls with Turner's who do dress like Janey did, the majority of us attempt to find and dress ourselves in clothes that fit us and help us if not look our age, look a little older.
Being short means that there are a lot of people out there who make assumptions about us, by at least dressing according to our age, and getting our clothes tailored to fit us in length, we are trying to lessen stereotyping.
Did Olivia decided to be a stay at home mom? Will she ever come back? She is missed

I just wanted to say that "we" really miss Mariska Hargitay on SVU. No ONE can ever replace her!!!! I appreciate you all trying to fill her void during her maternity leave with the actress from Gladiator and Devil's Advocate, however, you didn't have to make her such a "character". For example, her accent is wholly unnecessary. Her shining moment thus far was when she started speaking french, in her "breakthrough" episode about the lawyer/rapist. Her regular voice will do just fine; honestly her accent is really annoying and a complete turn-off.
I understand that you are trying to make her a grimey, gutsy, policewoman who has to learn about the empathy necessary to be an SVU detective, however, as you recall in the earlier seasons of SVU you all tried to "butch up" Mariska and soon realized that it wasn't necessary. Audiences accepted "Benson" as "Stabler's" equal, even with hair and make-up.

Speaking of DVD's, can you do something about the quality of the SVU DVD's you release? The B sides of my second seson dvd's don't play in my dvd player or in my computer and both are brand new. It's very frustrating. I'm sure that Dick Wolf has money enough to fix this problem. Thanks.

I believe Elliot hasn't signed the papers yet because on the outside, he doesn't want to have a failed marriage on his sleeve, but on the inside he figures that if he isn't married he wont have anything to stop him from facing the fact that he cares for Olivia more then he's suppose to (according to policy)

Will Stephanie March ever reprise her role as Alex on SVU? It would be cool if she came back as the Bureau CHief for SVU or at least guest-starred in a couple of episodes. I absolutely loved her work and was so disappointed when "Conviction" was cancelled. We need Alex!!!!
Why hasn't Lee Tergesen been a guest start on SVU? Every other actor on "Oz" has been, and Tergesen's done L&O: The Mothership. He and Meloni have great onscreen chemistry, not to mention how your ratings would soar if Tergesen was a guest (or better, a regular or semi-regular) on SVU.
Mr Baer, I am stumped. How do you explain this show getting worse every season yet ratings keep climbing? SVU was at its best during seasons 2-4. Those seasons produced some of the highest quality episodes I've ever seen. The episodes were extremely well written and acted, and personal info on the characters was kept at a minimum. SVU should have at least been nominated for a Best Drama Emmy during those years. The past few seasons, on the other hand, have been awful. The storylines have been ridiculous and the acting way over the top. Stabler's family problems and Benson's PMS are so damn annoying. It's as if you've "dumbed" the show down in recent years to attract younger viewers. In my opinion, SVU does not deserve to have the Law & Order brand name associated with it.
SVU is definitely at the top if its game. Whatever you're doing, keep it up.
And thanks to NBC for replaying the premiere. My DVR crapped out half way through, so I missed most of the episode.
Do people not understand that Mariska just had a baby and she took maternity leave?!? That is why she is out of the show for a few weeks, they filmed these episodes during her leave. And by the way her baby, August, is adorable! My best to her, Peter and August!

Just thought of a question: when will season 6 and 7 be released on DVD? As far as I'm concerned, seasons 1,2, 6 and 7 are the best of the lot, and I would love to own them on DVD. Any ideas on this?

Law & Order SVU is one of my favorite shows and I have gotten several of my friends hooked on the show. Unfortunately, they aren't able to get the DVDs from previous seasons to catch up on the story line. When are seasons 3 and 4 going to be released?
I TOTALLY agree with many of the other posters on here. SVU is one of my MOST FAVORITE shows on TV! The reason that I watch it is b/c of Mariska! Is it true that she's going away for a while?!?! PLEASE DON'T DO THAT! She's the reason that I watch this show. I just LOVE her! Like the other viewers on here, I enjoy her interaction with Christopher. I love the idea of Elliot and Olivia together, but I think it would suck if they got together before the final episode of the show. It would rip too much away from the point of the series.
I think you should keep us all in suspense about it until the very last minute. The tension is fabulous.
Aside from that, adulterers are not my favorite people. I adore the entire cast, but it would ruin Elliot's character for me if anything happened between him and Olivia before he was "officially" divorced.
I have always enjoyed SVU I do take execption with the premiere story line. It made true activists out as terrorists. I am deeply disturbed by this countries inhumane treatment of animals.Just look at the animal torture used by cosmetic and drug companies. Most people fighting for the rights of animals are good and caring and compassionate. This episode made a mockery of their dedication. I am deeply disappointed.

Excellent Season Premier.
However, the story seemed to be too scattered. It needed more focus.
Also, I know Mariska is off the show due to having her baby, etc. and I just wanted to say how much I loved the way her character was temporarily written out. It was very interesting. I hope the episode when she returns will fill us in on what happens.
