Oh, my gosh! I just saw the preview for her "special" episode. She looks beautiful!I mean she always has but motherhood just made her more so. I hope she, Peter and baby August are doing fine. I love her and can't wait for her to come back! She's awesome!

Mr. Baer, keep the shows writers because they are doing an awesome job! I think the show is awesome and I've been watching it for a very long time...I love Chris, Mariska, Ice-t and Richard Belzar, they are all great.
In regard to the questions about Benson & Stabler not appearing in a scene together, they're probably not on the outs. If I remember correctly, I read that the season premiere was filmed while Mariska was still pregnant. So maybe they were working around that.
And as for the show itself: I've been a faithful SVU watcher for 7 seasons now. (Where oh WHERE was I during season 1?) I especially love the chemistry between Mariska & Chris, a.k.a., Benson & Stabler. They (and their castmates) are wonderful actors! Keep up the good work!
I understand creative license but please be fair. Showing animal activists as militant radicals is placing a negative characterization on less than one percent of a very peace-loving population. People need to understand that animal activists are simply people who speak out against cruelty to animals. They are not blowing up buildings. They are completely against violence. They are standing up for the voiceless
I realize this is a show for entertainment purposes, but I was very concerned about the message your show gave real rape victims. Everyone overroad her decision to keep her experience private, and inserted their will over hers. Victims fear losing control over their decisions, and your show reinforced that fear.
Baby, baby, baby! If Elliott and Olivia do hook up, later on, you could bring her baby on the set as their love child!

I am glad to hear Olivia Benson will be returning. She is the heart of SVU full of compassion and toughness at the same time. This was an exciting episode. I will be there next week and look forward to seeing Olivia in October 2006.
I want to first start off that I love this show out of all the L&O shows. I was surprised to see Marcia Gay Harding back and it would be nice to see her again in another episode. This episode was great, it had me glued to the screen like always. And I want to extend my condolences to Ms. Hargitay on the loss of her father. My family's prayers go out to her.
I am disappointed by the uneven portrayal of so-called eco-terrorists. While some radical individuals do destroy property, rarely is anyone ever injured. These people are unfairly labeled terrorists when they are standing up against oppression, as people once had to do for women and blacks. The animals suffer immensely and for what - shampoo?
Keep up the good work Neal. Law & Order SVU is my favorite show. I thought that Olivia left Elliot when he had tried to call her residence. Glad she will be back next month & I cant wait to see the show.

Why would you have Olivia make a comment that the FBI woman should have shot to wound? That goes against everything that cops are trained to do and just makes them look bad.
Mariska did an AWESOME job in the season primiere. Chris did also. I will miss her in the coming episodes. I can't wait for her to return. Mariska is the BEST!!

I have been a fan of Law & Order since it orignated 13 (?) years ago. When SVU came on I worried it would be pushing the envelope of made-for-men edge.
The integrity of the show has proven itself time and again.
The show pulls us in with disbelief of our own society and keeps us with emotional attachment.

In Response to the posting about Elliott’s emotional meeting with the psychologist about his father: I am glad that the show dealt with Elliott’s anger, but I didn’t like that they decided that his anger stemmed from his issues with his father. Elliott had never mentioned much about his father before that. The show had lead us to believe that his anger stemmed from his marital and family problems, i.e. that he was never home to be with his family and he and his wife were splitting. THAT is the issue that Elliott needs to come to grip with. Is that going to be covered at all this year?

I'm an avid SVU watcher...and am so excited about the new season, and even cried, on the episode where Olivia requested a new partner...Chris and Mariska are so great together and i can't wait to see more episodes...

Last season really focused on the individual characters, and the seperation of detectives Stabler and Benson for a short time. Is the show going to continue down that path? Or will they reunite once Olivia comes back from working with the F.B.I?
By the way, Neal, I wanted to commend you on the genius that is SVU and thank you for constantly producing amazing episodes. SVU has the most engaging, intense plots and the most cohesive cast on television.
I will miss her....the actors on your show are so great and I get so wrapped up in each and ever story....even the reruns...

I loved the show tonight and there haven't been too many episodes that have disappointed me. I'm glad Mariska is doing well with her new baby. I love her character on the show. I like all of the characters and the NY attitude. Keep it coming. It's the best show on T.v.
