{{{(>.<)}}} (o.o) \(^o^)/
I've done something good! On our way out of Las Vegas, I saved the lives of two people! I stopped time right before the car exploded and dragged them to safety. They were pretty heavy. Need to level up my strength. (;´ρ`)
I did seem to level up my time freezing though. All that practice paid off. I can freeze time for 1 minute pretty comfortably. With more practice, maybe I can master it and stop time for even longer!
I guess the lady in the car wasn't the cheerleader. She didn't have any pom poms. Too bad. If she was the cheerleader we would've saved the world, according to future me via Peter.
The man I saved was tall and black. He seemed very serious. He didn't even smile. His son seemed nice but he didn't smile either. Being a hero is a very thankless job but at least they could smile (^.^) His son seemed to know about 9th Wonders. Is it a popular comic book?
At least we're on the road again finally getting back to our mission. I guess we have two missions now. Cheerleader then New York. It's a pretty long ride. So much desert. Where are the Jawa's? Maybe there is a Cantina on the way.
We're right now on Highway 40 which is also Route 66. Ka-chow! (*´ο`*)=3 sigh. I should've brought my PSP with me. Could've watched some movies. Pixar stuff is great but nothing compares to Miyazaki films. My favorite is Laputa: Castle in the Sky. Do Americans watch Miyazaki films?
I think you guys are right. I should definitely get a Katana. It's the way to go. (^o^)==[=======/
I can name it 正宗 (masamune) or maybe come up with my own like 時空刀 (jikuutou). Do you guys have ideas for names?
Just happy to be on the right heroic path.
Great hera,
Hiro
P.S. Lots of diners in America and all of them have waffles! \(^o^)/ I think blueberry is my favorite so far.

Hey Hiro. Interesting adventures you've been having. Its great to hear you did a good deed. The world needs more heroes, especally of the super varity. As a for a name for a Katana, how about nameing it for a virtue. Like Justice, Mercy, Valor or soemthing like that. If such sounds cool in Japanese the definatly go with it. Keep up the good work.
PS. The dinner's may have the option but it your choice of food that decided wether you gain afew kilo's or no.

Well he sure told you Limos, you always have the worst suggestions. I personally hold to naming it in the tradition of video games and movies alike.
[i]Soulstealer
Dreamcrusher
Stormcutter

Hiro,
Remember, use you powers for the good of mankind. Remember what you read on superman. Also, remember, you can't save everyone even though you can travel backwards and forwards in time. Some people are meant to die as it's their time. Go and meet the others in New York and save the cheerleader from being murdered, then, save the world.
No on ever said being a Super Hero was ever going to be easy.

Sorry Limos but I have to step in. Naming his sword after a god is just arrogant. It should be meaningful, not just something you found on Google. Wait till the right name comes to you Hiro.
Thanatos

Yay Katana, \(^.^)/ you should name it Dosojin, god of roads to represent your journey. That one has a nice ring to it.
If not you could go with Amida or Thanatos. Both are gods of death, good names for swords.
I also found Shoki, the god of justice. As a hero justice is a good thing to represent. (though I think that one is Chinese, not Japanese. I just went on Google to look for names.)
But maybe you should just find a name that suits how you get it. Future you hasn't told you how you get it yet. It might be important.
Well whatever you name it I'm sure it will be awesome.

dude, u are my favorite character, hilarious....and keeping with the idea of heros and legends your sword's name should be original, but you have to earn your sword, u have to travel to find a mystical lost blade called excalibur....then you should melt it down and recaste it into a katana blade...that would be cool.

hiro,
you have to be my favorite hero of all time, and anyone who loveo Crono as much as you do, is #1 in my book! the sword name? Well, Masamune was frogs sword, and you'd have to have the hero medal to use it anyways. maybe you could call it the rainbowsword, after Crono's most powerful weapon, or mayeb Murasame, the masamune's sister blade. maybe you should tell everyone who knows about your powers to ask future you what you named it? if they happen to see him/you. I worry about Ando though, as he may not be able to protect himself. i hope you can do a good job of making sure he's safe! or maybe you could name your sword Hero. i think it's fitting!
and i wouldn't worry too much about finding the cheerleader. if you came from the future to tell peter about it, there must be a future! so in a way you've already won! but don't get lazy, make sure you are doing all the right things, and working hard! just know that destiny is on your side, and you will find what you're looking for!

I think you should grow out your hair in the future, and wield not just a katana but some throwing stars as well. It just might come in handy. Also the name, I think you should give you're sword, should be 期待, or this version 希望- meaning HOPE, so that when you're on a dark path, you'll always have your trusty katana at your side guiding and giving you hope during the most dangerous of times. Also, for every person you meet, there may lie a secret not seen. Be weary of those who come near you, and welcome those who don't because they might also be just as SPECIAL as you.

Masamune? NO! Unless it's Auron's Masamune, which is a super-yes.
No Aerith stabbing!
Good job on the time freeze, though! That was fantastic!

Great job, Hiro! I'm so proud of you ^0^ I'm sure that the people you rescued would have thanked you if they had the chance.
There are a lot of gyms here in America. You could build up your strength there! And definitely get a katana. That would be perfect!
Miyazaki films are very popular here; I've seen almost all of them, myself. He's a genius ^^
Best of luck, Hiro! And try the Strawberry pancakes, too.

Ah you bring up a good point about the tall black guy. The fact that he's not as pleased with your company could mean he's got something to hide. When you basically save someone's life and they avoid you, it's time to really question THEIR motives rather than your own. You are on the right path. Keep trusting your instincts and try to get to know more about that boy. He could be the key to your next path.
Also, the training idea suggested by Mlgonza is a good consideration. Just avoid using those powers in public unless it's either an emergency or until you've gained more control over them.

Hello Hiro-san!
See? You were able to do a good deed; and this time you were prepared.
As for your take on the fact that being a hero is a thankless job. Well...that's true. But you do it for the sake of doing a good deed, ne?
Also, yes, 9th Wonders is a comic book, to answer your question, Hiro-san.
And...yes! Most defiantly you should name your katana! I like the names you're thinking about, but I hope you don't mind too much if I suggest some more.
Kaigaishii
Yuusou
L
Raito
Sozo (after Sagara Sozo)
Also, since you like Miyazaki so much, you could name it Howl (or Howell as it was in the book), from Howl's Moving Castle.
Glad you like waffles so much! Aren't they just great? ^__^
I wish you the best of luck on your journey, Hiro-san!

There is a man in New York City who generates radiation. He must be stopped somehow. I believe the future explosion is caused by an attempt to stop him. Anyone who gets too close to him will be burned to death -- except the cheerleader. She has mutant healing abilities like Wolverine. She is the only one who can stop the man from exploding. She is the key to saving the world.

Hayao Miyazaki film are the best. My personal favorites are Spirited Away, The Last Unicorn (its old school), My Neighbor ToToRo, KiKi's Delivery Service, Nausicca and the Valley of the Wind, and of course Castle in the Sky. Actually I love manga. My favorite lately has been Full Metal Alchemist, But I still find myself going back over Neon Genesis: Evangelion. There is something addictive about it. When I first seen Heroes, it kind of reminded me of Manga. Unlike our American animation where it seems everyone is a superhero, Manga isn't like that at all. Take Visions of Escaflowne for instance where Van Fanel doesn't even want to be a hero, he just wants revenge for his village being burned down, then he meet people along the way the start to belive in him and then he starts to believe in himself and that's what makes him a hero. So good work Hiro. Can't wait to see the next episode.

Hey Hiro,
Congrats on your leveling ^_^ ! This is just the beginning of your training.
One minute time freeze is good but how long does it take you to rejuvenate before you can freeze time again for another 1 minute?
This is another exercise that I recommend you must work on. This conditioning will give you the ability to chain time freezes simutaneously creating a longer time freeze combo for a greater effect. Work on freezing time for a minute and then stoping but not being tired at all and freeze it again immediately after you release it. See how many combos you can come up with before you get tired and then try to increase that number over a small interval break.
Also while doing this you must alternate between time freeze combos and increasing your time frame. Your next goal will to increase your time by 30 secs and continue to do so until you hit the goal of 5 mins for this weeks training.
Being able to train hard like this will give you the abilty to time freeze 5 min chain combos back to back creating a 30 minute time freeze super move if you can successfully chain 5 in a row. A lot can be done in 30 minutes ^_^.
Your last and final exercise for the week is to learn how to manipulate certain items in the time you freeze. Throw a item in the air freeze time around you and just make the item fall while everything else is still frozen. This will give you the ability to manipulate projectiles and objects to benefit your abilities on the battle field when you counter villains.
Sorry I know this is alot of homework but with hard work not only do you increase your chances of staying alive you increase others chances of not dying. So please work as hard as your favorite anime, video main character, special movie super star would ^_^ !
Last but not least I see you were looking for a blade name for your future Katana.
here are some suggestions
Cloud
Wind
Chaos
Nemesis
Zangestu ^_^
Or a name after someone important to you like a family member.
Since your mind has been on your future katana I think its time to bring this topic up to you again.
You seem to have access to the internet whether its a internet pit stop, a internet cafe, a mobile device with the internet, ect. The next time you get to another computer you need to look up the worlds greatest swords man, the worlds greatest fighters, and the worlds strongest men, and the worlds most acrobatic trainers in the history of the world.
Once you locate these individuals print out the pictures or focus on that picture and time frame. You will be able to travel to that destination.
You have the ability to learn from the greatest combat legends in the history of time. Once you gather enough information that should be your long term goal.
So then you wouldn't need super stength Hero will grow strong from hard work and traing like Rock Lee in Naruto. ^_^
Sorry for the long book Hiro but if it wasn't important I wouldn't have written it. This information can turn you into the worlds greatest Hereo and make your journeys easier. Good Luck!

Hey there,
On your advice I watched Howl's Moving Castle. What a beautiful film! Thanks for the recommendation. Is there any kind of music to listen to to send you good karmic vibes? I listened to some Früvous and thought happy thoughts in your direction. I'm so excited for you to come to New York my heart is in my stomach. It's not every day you get to meet someone you so greatly admire. There's one thing I don't understand though... Why would someone like Hiro finish last in the class? That makes no sense to me. Perhaps things are different for you, but in my experience, all the RPGs were played behind the closed doors of the gifted program, and we certainly weren't at the bottom of the class. Those games aren't for the mental lightweights. Just ask Weird Al. Anyway, I'm sure the force is strong with you. How strong? Like small pony. (That's quite strong that is.) Stay wonderful.
Peace the spork out,
Marti ;j

Maybe you should give your sword a name that has something to do with your power. You could call it 'paradox' or something like that.
... on second thought that might be a little cheesy.

You should give your sword an original and unique name that suits its purpose and your personality. I'm sure the inspiration will hit you when the time comes. :)
I share your profound love for waffles! I make some FANTASTIC homemade waffles, so if you're ever in the houston area, drop on by!

Personally, Masamune is an overused name for a katana isn't it? It keeps reminding me of Frog getting the Masamune in Chrono Trigger hehe. I suggest a better name-one can remember and unique! Something like Tsugaru or something like it. Tsugaru sounds fitting, but that is up to you. It is your sword after all!
Ever played Katamari Damashi? It is highly addicting and the songs are catchy. I always dance to this song, it's called Katamari on the Rocks (Main theme song)

Don't worry, do your best

You should definitely name your katana like the best project in the world. The name is "sapho". It means like a frog jumping through time like you, and also means courage and heroism, and regret of the great lost of maximus.
You are our hero hiro.

Hiro, if you name your Katana, you should name it "Defender". Good luck on your quest, man!

Hey Hiro writing you from Hawaii.
I've been thinking about your importance regarding the obliteration of NYC. You can stop time right? Claire, the cheerleader is like Wolverine, able to heal and Peter can fly? Matt reads minds, DL phases like Shadowcat, Nikki-Jessica has super strength, Micah may be like Magneto (?), and Nathan is basically Cannonball from New Mutants. So okay picture this. Matt picks out the culprit/culprits w/the nuclear device. However too late. So you freeze time. By this time you are able to selectively freeze parts of that time. You enable Nikki-Jessica to throw Claire into the sky with the bomb as it's frozen in mid detonation (maybe a split second after it goes off so a small fireball). Nathan or Peter zoom up to catch Claire as she lets go of the explosion. Micah manipulates machinery/metal around him to create a barrier to the blast in the atmosphere and DL phases all the Heroes inside the shelter. Yeah it sounds far fetched but stuff like that happens in X-Men and X-Factor.
Throw the cheerleader, save the city.

Hiro-kun,
Congratulations on upping your time-freezing duration! o^-^o It's so great to hear you talking positively again! I really missed the sweet, optimistic Hiro-kun!
I adore Miyazaki-san! Kiki's Delievery Service is my favorite because it was my first Miyazaki-san film! Laputa: Castle in the Sky is one of my favorites as well! ^-^ He's an amazing artist!
Oh...I love 時空刀 as a name. So fitting. ^-^ 雷切 would be a cool name, too - the alternate name to Hatake Kakashi's very own Ninjutsu in the Anime/Manga, Naruto. But I believe 時空刀 beats it by a long shot.
Hiro-kun, good luck with your hero's path! I know you'll be the greatest hero of all! Take care!

That's so awesome that you got such a great ability to freeze time! You really are a hero. I wish I had a super like yours (if I got that, I would use it for... you know we all have got some part of our mind telling us to do something not quite right.)
Anyway, is waffle your favorite american food, and all you eat since you've got here? You better slow down; otherwise you'll gain weight so fast! lol (You don't wanna be on the "Biggest Losers".)
Well, speaking of the name of the sword, 時空刀 could be too ordinary. I mean, I've heard it somewhere I don't know specifically. But, why is it a sword? Is it because you are Japanese? I think not many heroes use a sword as their weapon, but is it needed to be? Maybe because you cannot use a firearm when you freeze time--bullet can't move except you do it, but maybe you can cut things with a sword by just swinging it. I don't know.
Anyway, I hope your journey turns out successfully!
p.s.
If you think you need to get better at dealing with English, you have to try harder. Do you think it takes a lot of time to do it? Don't worry. You and time are bestfriends. You will master English before Ando-kun knows. Use your time or freeze it to study English!

Hiro-san,
That's great! Congrats on your save and power improvement! =)
9th Wonders is okay... I like reading Japanese manga. My fav is Tsubasa.
Miyazaki-sama is GOD!!! Laputa was cool. =)
GL with your katana. I dunno...maybe you should name it Chronoblade or Mr. Pointy. "My name is Hiro and this is my associate Mr. Pointy."
Nee, Hiro-san, how are you gonna meet Peter Petrilli if you don't know what he looks like? (Well, obviously the future you knows what he looks like but the current you doesn't...Gahh!!! My head hurts!!! T.T ) Also, what if there are others besides you and Nathan Petrilli? How will you find them? Do you have a "hero sense"?
Oh, yeah!!! I don't think Nathan's a good guy. I read that he caused his wife to be in a wheelchair. =(
Good Luck,

Spork,
Maybe it makes you feel better about yourself to speak badly of others, but it really is somewhat less than impressive. A tip however.. when attempting derision, it's always best to check your facts. Kind of difficult to leave a message to someone who refuses to pick up their phone.

Poppers asked... "how come you can read the 9th Wonder magazine and not a car manual?"
-- maybe you're joking w/ this question (I hope so). There's a HUGE difference between a comic book and a manual. The graphic depiction of expressions and gestures make this almost the perfect medium for learning a foreign language. My mother (schooled in Germany before it became common practice to include other languages) taught herself English by reading comic books. I'm happy to see it's helping Hiro too.

I don't know of the traditions of your culture in naming a weapon, but perhaps you could add to the memorial to your grandfather by naming it for him in some way.
It seems a good way to remember where you came from, and what started you on your path.
Remember always where you started and you will never become lost.

Way to go, Hiro-kun. NOW, you're a true hero. You put your own life at risk to save other people in need. I don't know what that black guy or his son's problem was. Maybe they had something on their minds.
You can't expect to save the Cheerleader on your first rescue attempt, Hiro-kun. Still, it's good to know you're getting in some practice. When you finally do get to whereever the Cheerleader is, you'll be ready to save her, or at least help save her. BTW, no Jawas in the Nevada Desert, dude. This isn't Tatooine, remember? Best way to "level" up your strength is to lift weights, or else continue to lug people out of danger like you did here. One way or the other, you'll be getting into shape.
So, Hiro-kun's "Gettin' his Kicks on Route 66," huh? It's an obscure reference to a famous jazz song sung by a man named Nat "King" Cole. Don't worry about it. Route 66 is, by and large, the fastest way to cross the country that you'll ever find. Stick to it, if you can.
Miyazaki, hmm? My daughter really loves his "Panda kopanda" series. Other than that, I really couldn't say if I've watched anything of his or not. I've mostly been interested in stuff by Rumiko Takahashi. You know: Ranma, Inuyasha. Things like that. It makes for good TV and it's really easy to get into. As for 9th Wonders, I'm afraid that's never been my favorite. I'll have to admit I've been a regular fan of Spider-man's, like you, but 9th Wonders isn't one of the books that's been on my reading list. Sounds interesting, though.
If you're intent on naming your sword, when you get one, I'd go with something original. "Jikuutou." Hmm. I had to run that one through my Japanese-English Dictionary. Jikuu=Space-Time and Tou=Freeze or Sickle. So, one way or the other, in English, it would be either "The Space-Time Sickle" or "the Space-Time Freezer," both of which, in my opinion, are appropriate in your case. I've never been great with naming swords, so go with *your* creation. That one seems good anyway.
As for your "heroic path," I'm just glad you're on a path that makes you happy. As for Diners having waffles, well, I'm pretty sure they all do, so take care and don't gorge yourself too much, okay?
Travel Safely, Hiro-kun.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Pratt
PS. Maybe you should settle on a single closer. It's up to you, of course. Mrs. P.

I have a couple of suggestions for your katana's name, Hiro. All of these are based on things you've mentioned in your blog so far.
明日暗夜 (Ashita Anya - Tomorrow's Dark Night) For the non-Japanese speaking folks reading this, the characters double up nicely to a rough translation of the start of the Green Lantern oath. (brightest day, darkest/blackest night)
皆既日食 - (Kaiki Nisshoku - Solar Eclipse) You mentioned an eclipse a while back when your blog became active and your powers started, so this strikes me as highly appropriate. Has the added bonus of sounding good in either language!
英雄之道(Eiyuu no Michi - Hero's Path) 'Nuff said.
一生懸命頑張って下さい!^_^v Do your best here in America!

Hiro,
Congrats! for saving those people you gain 500xp which is great because that lvls you! so role your d4 for hit points, maybe now you could take that punch (lucky for you it was subdual dmg). role high, because your con is kinda low.
when you hit 3rd lvl i recommend the exotic weapon proficiency bastardsword (seeing that in dnd a kantana is equivilient to a masterwork bastardsword) so you dont suffer the -4 in combat.
i recomend an ancestreal kantana, because as you grow in lvls, so does you weapon. To ensure you gradfathers blessings i would name it after him. he may have died in Hiroshima, but he will aid you in prventing it from happening again.

I like the idea of concept words so how bout .....Truth. The katana would be your way to the truth and all heroe's fight their way to the truth because if they didn't they would not grow from their adversity. Oh and cause you saved those two people that's 2+ Strength, 1+ Agility, and 5+ Intelligence :D.

Yes. Americans watch Miyazaki films. In fact a coule of months ago there was an entire week dedicated to his films on AMC network. One of my favorites is Princess Monoke and/or Spirited Away.
Anyways maybe you should name your katana Clockwork...or something simulair...definatly something relating to your powers I think.
Do you eve know how to WIELD a katana? I've taken martial arts and I know using a katana takes lots of practice.

To Kitty:
Traditionally, Japanese swordsmiths were renown artisans and like all artist, you'd name your finest works. Although some are just named after the smith himself, like Masamune which was the name of probably the most famous and finest swordsmith in Japanese history.
In the subject of names again how about "爆弾止める" (Bakudantomeru- "Bombstopping"). Just thinking out loud.

Hiro
you are the coolest of all the heros in my perspective.
Any way for your katana I would reccomend a name of meaning such as
kijuukikuchibashi: yes a long name but it means cranes beak as in the novels with all of those paper cranes and the beak its only defence.
the Hiroatizer: a weird name but it would make the villans chuckle long enough for you to stop time and dispatch them.
hitotoki: means time in Japenese

Yes, Americans do watch Miyazaki films. My favorite is my neighboor totoro.
Do you have to name you katana? do Japanese people do that? I guess that'd be the equivalent of people naming there cars here in the US.

How about the name 時獄刀 (jigokutou), kind of a play of hell, because with a sword and all the time you want, it's kind of hellish for your opponent.
Just an opinion.

Dear Hiro,
Name your sword "Musashi's Legacy", after your country's greatest swordsman of record!
Maybe this journey of yours will be much like that anime from the 1980's called "Genesis Climber Mospeada". Do you remember Mospeada, Hiro? Stick Bernard (they called him Scott in the USA) travelled with his skeptical friend Ray (like Ando!) and along the way, one by one, they would get more people. Finally they had a small army of people, and they all travelled to "Reflex Point" to take out the Invid Hive.
Yes, I bet this is exactly how it will play. :P
|
|
|
|
There seems to be a major fascination with your sword and naming it. Let me introduce you to a computer game called "Fable" where a young boy with a destiny is trained in a Hero's Guild. As this Hero progresses in age he can choose to do either evil or good deeds--that is the option of choice in the game (in the form of quests). Evil deeds will eventually change his appearance into a demon. Good deeds will gain the trust of the people. Many melee weapons are available: some are imbued, some can be bought...but the best weapons must be earned and can never be traded. The strongest melee weapon is The Sword of Aeons (you'll need to do a evil deed to keep this sword) or you throw it away to eventually earn Avo's Tear (exactly the same as The Sword of Aeons, but requires additional exploration and cheat references to obtain). Good luck to you.
