Hi...
Hi, this is Tina Fey. I'm in New York at a little party we're having for our cast and crew. We're eating chicken wings and getting ready to watch the show and I hope you're doing the same. Especially the chicken wings part. You may know me from SNL or as the teacher in Mean Girls. And hopefully you'll recognize a lot of people on 30 Rock. Alec Baldwin, international movie star and genius. Tracy Morgan from SNL and The Longest Yard. Super-talented Jane Krakowski from Ally McBeal. Judah Friedlander; he's been in everything from American Splendor to Feast. The delightful Mr. Jack McBrayer from Talladega Nights. The awesome Rachel Dratch from SNL. I love everyone in this cast.

Brilliant, as expected, Tina. Exactly what I'd hoped it would be, but even better. Congratulations.
The only question now is whether NBC will let the show build or Arrest its Development ala Fox. I want to be positive, but network television has taken me for granted too many times in the past, and I'm tired of telling people I just ran into a door.

The show opening with the hotdog line, was so right on. So many people can relate but in that, why haven't we discussed this phenom. before.
Even though I watched all the promos, the jokes I hadn't seen were so refreshing and in calibur I have not seen since the start of the series AbFab, or when Roseanne came to the t.v. airwaves.
The storyline was captivating for a 20+ minute show and Tracey Morgan, omg, was hilarious, especially scripted to say what he said during their "lunch", beyond hilarious: Karl Robe!
Very smart, very much what we need. And it wasn't cynical, I actually felt I was too crabby in my day to day life after seeing Tina make hot dog gifts out of a lunch line fiasco.

Wow. I have to say that was a great first show. Great writing Tina and some wonderful performances. Alec Baldwin was perfect and that's was Tracy at his best. The page was hilarious. I've set the DVR...

AWFUL SHOW, Sorry Tina, I think you are funny and talented but this show was shockingly unfunny! How many "Yes men" or should I say "Yes ma'am" do you have around you??? The only funny line was the "computer class" line! Alec Baldwin is amazing, he seems like a waste here of talent, pitching a real oven for GE?!?! What was that all about? Are you going to slip in GE commercials on your show?? Tracy Morgan? When is he funny? When was he funny? Not on SNL, not on his failed sitcom and not on this show, he is miscast. Its almost like your writers are in their own little comedy world giggling together while the rest of us look around in wonder....wondering when its going to be funny. Solution? Better writers, fire Tracy and no more "Yes Men"!!! Did you do a focus group?? Good luck, I'm still in shock how unfunny this show was and this is the first time I've ever written a blog!!!!
I thought the show was pretty good, some of the jokes where shown too much in NBC previews.
It seemed to fall a little flat towards the end, but I could not figure out why. No real help I know.
I thought the first meeting with Tracy and Tina went really good, all very funny.
Generally I think this show will really do well, hopefully better than SNL seems to be going since Ms Fey left.............
To the people that hated tonight's show:
Why? How about some constructive criticism, I'm sure it's very welcome. How else are the writer's going to know how to fix things up a bit? Be specific guys, come on, I think we owe it to this brilliant cast. Back up your words people, back them up!

Great show! I'm watching for a second time right now.
Just one thing -- I hate to be the one to say it but it could use a Laugh Track. Think of the laugh track free productions to do well. They are much more over-the-top, unrealistic comedies than yours. Your humor is a little too subdued/subtle for a regular Joe like myself to burst into laughter alone in my living room without a little canned help.

Why does Tina's character throw a water bottle at Alec's character? Ineffectual protest? Either throw something more dangerous or throw something that causes a chain reaction. Why didn't you take Jane Krakowski's problems with the cat bigger? If this was a delicate comedy it would be one thing, but this is broad humor. You could have done something like the battle between Ben Stiller and the cute little dog in "Something About Mary." Also it is rarely funny when white people pretend to act like black people -- silly and embarassing yes, funny no.

In reply to Adrian Meyer (who posted below me), I think you're missing the point. It's a subtle jab at the mega-corp. that NBC has become.
Alec Baldwin is dually in charge of ovens and a TV show. The alliance seems awkward.
The fact that the show keeps talking about this wonderful "third heat" is a part of the irony. You're pretty much a moron for not recognizing that what they're doing is not just product placement, but a light jab at the people that are giving them their jobs.
Lorne Michaels, executive producer of 30 Rock, is known for allowing this sort of self-effacing corporate humor on his work. So get over it.

whats up with the product placment?
Tina and writers, is it possible- just slightly ever so possible that you could have some positive African American characters like you do with the white characters. Yes, yes, some of the white characters are goofy- but they are just that- goofy. And you have other positive whites that make up for the goofy ones. The only black characters are 'ghetto n' and 'wanna be white or borderline gay black character.' And the black women were portrayed as mindless ho's. Look, you are intelligent- the door is open for you. I am trying to get to your position so I can write something that will couneract this trash you guys keep portraying blacks to be. I will continue on Tracy's blog.

Wow, obviously Susan and Patty cake have worked with you in the past and are seeking your emotional destruction. Its too bad that they don't realize that You, Alec, and Tracy are brilliant. I work late and I only got to catch the last 15 minutes, but I found it to be hilarious. Much better than 3 Kings (Just kidding!). Good luck to you. I will miss you as I have missed Tracy on SNL. Alec was also quite good during his guest appearance on SNL. I think that comedy is the hardest thing an actor can do. I found Alec to be excellent at getting me to crack a smile. I hope to be seeing more of your show in the years to come.

The cast is great as well as the storyline. loved your work in mean girls and would like to know if u will be getting naked in any upcoming movies or mags. So-so... I've got to see more shows before I know if I like it or not. Not a big Tracey Morgan fan... never thought he was very funny. Very nice seeing Tina and Rachel back at it.

Question: what's the name of the young man who takes the calls in the show? I remember him as the waiter from Arrested Development, and my wife and I think he's one of the greatest actors on television!

WTF!?! I'm going to use this opportunity to send some hate mail. I decided against the hate mail route last year after a tasteless cheap shot at the Army Football on Weekend Update. I don't remember the specifics of the joke, but it was rather inflamitory. You might as well have made fun of mentally retarded 8 year olds. But that's not the point here. The point is that you used a comedy show to try to sell an oven. When it was first mentioned I thought it was a made up product. Then at the commercial break I saw the the ad for this new oven. Which has proven to me that this country has reached a new low. It is ok to get a cheap laugh from a strugling football team that is the representative of an institution that values integrity and service to the nation while undermining the spirit of what our country stands for by using underhanded techniques to sell ovens. For shame, Tina Fey. For Shame.
